He said he would campaign for president "joyfully." But Jeb Bush has apparently realized that happy talk won't get him anywhere in the era of Donald Trump.
Bush took his gloves off Tuesday in Miami after his campaign released a new Web video attacking Trump as a phony Republican. The video came on the heels of a Trump video Monday slamming Bush over immigration.
Speaking mostly in Spanish which will do little to get him press coverage in early-primary states like Iowa and New Hampshire Bush told reporters he decided to go after Trump "because he attacks me every day with barbarities."
"The man is not conservative," Bush said. "Besides, he tries to personalize everything. If you're not totally in agreement with him you're an idiot or stupid or don't have energy or blah blah blah.
"That's what he does, and it's not good, because there are millions of people who today think their future isn't as it should be," added Bush, whom Trump has repeatedly poked as "low energy." Earlier Tuesday, Bush told Fox News he's "fired up," just not running a "campaign based on angst."

Funny. “Blah blah blah” is all I hear anytime that Jeb speaks.
Ted Cruz is probably fluent in Spanish, but, since he is addressing AMERICANS, he chooses to speak English.
Just Sayin’.
Yada Yada Yada.
Running on empty.
How could he possibly still be at 9%. I thought he got the greatly envied Cantor endorsement.
Jebby has no clue how SICK and TIRED people are of all this foolishness. Heep speaking Spanish, and keep losing more votes than you gain.
Ever notice how Jeb never gets sick?Even germs don’t like him.
Speak Spanish? What’s he running for? President of Mexico? They would eat him alive in Mexico City!
Any relation to Vinny Barbarino?
I think the idiot realizes that he has lost the vote of most of us white English speaking Americans, so he’s trying to go after the Hispanic vote. But I don’t really think they want him either.
Yeah, nothing like what his ‘rat so-called opponents do or ever did, like making movies about his brother being assassinated. But Trump telling the truth about illegal aliens and opposing Yeb’s anti-American stance, that’s really barbaric.
What a creep. Trump should probably softpedal the counterpunch. Or he could say “this is exactly the type of thing a candidate with zero appeal might say” and leave it at that.
Actually, Trump should say his criticisms of Jeb are just acts of love.
He could always take a page from the Cochran/Barbour playbook and try to tie Trump to the KKK, like they did to Chris McDaniel. But then Trump could turn around and tie Yeb to La Raza, and probably with more truth to the acccusation, so maybe that might not work too well after all for Yeb.
I will never get over McCain saying, in the middle of his own presidential campaign, that Hussein would make a fine president, while Haley Barbour’s machine, on behalf of Thad Cochran, accused a fellow Republican (and a true conservative) Chris McDaniel of having ties to the KKK, to black ‘rat voters, to get their votes in a Republican run-off, because they knew they had lost the conservative vote. That beats every dirty political trick I’ve ever heard of, because they did it to a member of their own party.
Trump out to make a list, and work it into a speech, of some of the most egregious “acts of love” which have been perpetrated by illegal aliens upon American citizens, and wait for Yeb to refute it. All Yeb can say is “citizens do it too”, to which Trump can say “So we need to exacerbate the problem by allowing in criminals who can’t even be held accountable because they broke the law just to be here? And who plead ‘no hablo inglese’ if they are by some miracle found and arrested, given a slap on the wrist and released to go commit even worse crimes, now that they know how easy it is to get away with it?”
Trump ought also to highlight the diseases they’re bringing in (which I personally find extremely scary and worrisome) and for which they’re not even vetted because they sneak into the US.
