Rick Wilson is a national Republican media consultant and campaign adviser.
Ive come to realize that the Obama Cult and the Trump Cult are two sides of the same personality-cult coin. The cognitive dissonance between what the Trump faction hated about Obama and what they love about Donald is so far beyond ironic it would take a team of trained linguists and semioticians decades to decode.
But Ill try.
You hated Barack Obamas cult-like followers, with their mindless stares of adoration, their impervious barrier between emotion and reason, and their instant fury when confronted with the facts about his record, his history, or his philosophy.
But you love it from Trump.

The people who want rump are different than the people who want Obama. The Obama people had great expectations of how the government was going to change to their benefit. The trunk supports just want to bite the hell out of Washington.
I doubt that many of Trump’s supporters have adoration for the man. They’re fed up with double talk from Democrats and especially from their own Republican Party. Trump is riding this enormous wave of support because the grassroots is giving the finger to the party establishment.
If Rick Wilson can’t see the difference between 0bama and Trump on his own I don’t know how anyone can help him.
I don’t think a Trump supporter could rightly be considered part of a cult, just someone who wants their elected officials to work FOR America.
But I guess that’s a concept Mr. Wilson can’t quite grasp.
Blathering nonsense. This is what I call push journalism. He is trying to form opinions. Won’t work.
Actually, I think they full of the other thing, but couldn’t tell the difference. = :^)
Heh heh heh...
Actually, I think that Rick Wilson has a point here. Trump does seem to be creating a personality cult where his supporters don’t even seem to care what they are supporting providing he attacks the people they don’t like. I feel a little bit like a German citizen in the early 1930’s watching normally rational conservatives start to cultishly follow a strong leader that they thought would fight back and stop the communists.
Seriously if I had to pick a political philosophy for Trump I would say that it is fascism for the following reasons. 1. His support of and past involvement in crony capitalism. 2. His movements emphasis on a strong leader and a almost mystical belief that he can fix things almost without caring what his beliefs or idealogy is. 3. A nationalism that is starting to push into the overtly rascist and nativist realm. 4. A delight in watching him personally demean and attempt to destroy anyone who opposes him. Finally 5, a lack of any concern for the constitution or the separation of powers.
Trump’s support is based on hatred of Obama’s policies. This is so much deeper than a personality contest. The differences go to the heart of what this country stands for. It absolutely does not stand for anything Obama represents. It absolutely stands for everything that Trump represents.
That includes opportunism, wealth accumulation, being a bigger dog and frustrating every conniving coward in government.
Trump is the acceptable alternative to open rebellion. Take him down at the nation’s peril.
Amen to your post!
How about, “the libruls loved it from Hussein Obama, and hate it from Trump”.
Seems completely like an unhinged liberal, coming on the uninformed as a conservative, trying to present himself as a moderate.
He is a liberal.
And they fail to see it yet again. If the GOPe put up candidates with values, morals and a policy that made America great, there would be no Donald Trump.
Instead they are trying to shove liberal light down our throats and tell us Conservatism is dead, deal with it.
FUGOPE
A patriot who gave money to Hillary Clinton and Harry Reid’s election campaigns?
I think you’re a little wide of the mark.
It’s not that Trump supporters think he
can do no wrong -— you can’t please all the
people all the time. But in areas where
supporters might disagree with Trump,
THEY DON”T CARE. Think of it as keeping
an eye on the prize and not quibbling
over shit that does not matter.
given the anger at our current situation, I call this a shout out by the loyal opposition to Obamabots:
“My imperial President TRUMPS your imperial President”
Sort of a ‘big get even’....
Fascism or Monarchism.
Fascism? The simple fact of the success of his offspring should tell you otherwise. America is doomed because patriotism is being relabeled as fascism and racism. Trump is masterful at grabbing opportunity and using people’s emotional response to his benefit. His attacking style is what is needed to beat back the evil that is destroying America.
I hate Marxist Islamofacism of the 44th resident. Trump is many things but none of those.
So. A punkahwallah in the Geriatric Old Plotters’ stable. Who cares?
Really? So you leave a lot out. Trump also donated to a ton of Republicans as he mentioned in the first debate. You need a better understanding of Trump's explanations for it also. He is not for having to donate to everyone (the system as it is now) and talks of it being wrong.
