LAS VEGAS — There are the people on his side on the Iran deal, President Barack Obama said Monday evening. Then there are “the crazies.”
Back from a notably uneventful and restful two-week vacation in Martha’s Vineyard, Obama was immediately on the road for a short trip here, first to speak at a green energy conference hosted by retiring Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid, then to raise money for his preferred successor, former Nevada Attorney General Catherine Cortez Masto.
Ruddy from the sun, Obama described himself as “refreshed, renewed, recharged — a little feisty.”
And he delivered, recounting the ride he and Reid had just taken from the conference to the fundraiser in his up-armored presidential limo, where they talked about old times and getting back to Washington to “deal with the crazies in terms of managing some problems.”
The line evoked the late Dean Acheson, who as secretary of state liked to refer to opponents of Harry Truman’s foreign policy as ”the primitives.”
Getting the Iran deal through Congress will be Obama’s major hurdle coming into September.
Likely incoming Democratic leader Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) is against the deal, as are a number of other Hill Democrats. Obama’s already been under fire for saying opponents of the deal have made “common cause” with Iranian hardliners, with Republicans pressing him on whether he’d lump Democrats into that group along with the GOP.
On Sunday, Reid backed the deal, and though he said Monday that there’s a long way to go, in the White House and beyond, his support is seen as very helpful.
“Harry’s leadership matters,” Obama said earlier at the conference, referring to his support.
In a reflective mood, Obama said he and Reid also spent part of the ride talking about “riding off in the sunset together.”
“It’s hard for me to express how much I love Harry Reid,” Obama said. “Everything I’ve accomplished I’ve accomplished because Harry Reid was by my side.”
Reid, who sat in the front row of the fundraiser, did his own gushing just a short while earlier, saying of the president, “The best is yet to come.”
...and he calls US crazy. I wonder how much he gets paid if the deal goes down? I mean isn't it obvious to anyone else he's getting paid by the way he's been acting.lately? He reminds me of a kid that's using every excuse he can think of to get his mom to drive by a Gamestop so he can buy a video game.

Obama has openly lied to U.S. citizens with no apologies, he’s ignored the Constitution, inflamed race relations and urged Hispanics to punish Republican “enemies.” He abandoned our allies, appeased tyrants, coddled adversaries and used the Crusades as an excuse for inaction as Islamist terrorists slaughter their way across the Middle East.
Just look at how he sat on his hands while ISIS took over the middle east… and then squandered all gains from Iraq and Afghanistan. He has destroyed our foreign policy. He has ruined our country.
Stateside, Obama has crippled our economy. Everybody I know is either out of work or under-employed. And our expenses keep rising. My health insurance is now up to $400/month. Before the government touched it, it was $250/month! My auto insurance, which the government has yet to ruin, is thankfully only $24/month (from Insurance Panda). Please, Obama! Don’t try to socialize ANYTHING ELSE!
With everything Obama touches now in shambles, Barry needs a new hobby. When is he going to wake up? When is America and the rest of the world going to wake up? Islamic extremists need to be eliminated… and for that to happen in the west, Islam needs to be confined to the Middle East.
Obama promised to change America, he is actually in the process of changing the entire planet to conform to his perverse vision of rule by a Stone Age totalitarian theocracy. Obama is a psychopath who belongs in an asylum.
