Amid mounting concerns about Donald Trump’s candidacy from the GOP establishment, Republican leaders in at least two states have found a way to make life a lot harder for him.

The Virginia and North Carolina parties are in discussions about implementing a new requirement for candidates to qualify for their primary ballots: that they pledge to support the Republican presidential nominee — and not run as a third-party candidate — in the general election.

Makes me think about ol’ Teddy Roosevelt back when politics were even more overtly vicious.

The more obstacles they throw in his way, the stronger he seems to the public when he beats them.

They can't stop him like this. Perhaps they can't stop him at all.

It would anger voters to a point where besides assuring Republicans lose the presidency, it could cost them the Senate and HOR.

Note to GOP:

I will never, ever, vote for Jeb!. Under no circumstance. Won’t happen. No Rubo. No Kasich. No Paul. No Walker. And you are fools if you think I am alone.

The Virginia and North Carolina parties are in discussions about implementing a new requirement for candidates to qualify for their primary ballots: that they pledge to support the Republican presidential nominee — and not run as a third-party candidate — in the general election.

Attempting "dirty tricks" will only backfire on the foolish parties, and further isolate Republicans unhappy with the GOPe.

From the article:

Those involved in the push said the two states are operating independently of one another, and of the Republican National Committee, which has little say over how state parties determine who gets on their primary ballots.

Oh yeah, sure. So sick of RINO lies. The Republican Party is playing with fire.

It’s almost as if the Republican party leadership wants to pave the way for Trump to run third party while they are claiming the opposite. That way, they can blame their loss on Trump and settle back as the comfortable token opposition.

So trump should take the pledge, which can be invalidated if he suffers from dirty tricks

I for one would not hold him to a pledge by a bunch of juvenile ego driven narcissists

That would be a YUGE mistake. Cruz is my first choice; nevertheless
These kind of tricks against Trump would tick me off.

“The GOPe had better watch out. They are being to clever and cheating their base.”

Clearly the GOPe does not believe in either the free market for ideas or a free market economy. They long ago sold out to the oligarchs.

My state of VA is an embarrassment. Last time the changed the rules under the radar and my choices were Romney and Ron Paul. Nobody else was on the ballot.

What they are saying, in effect, Jeb WILL BE FORCED to support the Republican nominee, Donald Trump.

Trump is a contract guy, if he does sign, he will force everyone to support him using the courts.

You’re not alone........I’m right with you. I’ve walked and talked the Republican Party since Reagan until about 4 years ago and knowing what I know now about this “RNC road map” I could just puke for being so taken in and stupid. Those who say, like myself, there’s not a dimes worth of difference in the 2 parties are being proven right.
