A married politician was horrified to find her details were on a list of email addresses leaked after the hacking of infidelity website Ashley Madison. \ Michelle Thomson, the SNP MP for Edinburgh West, said her identity had been harvested as part of a smear campaign against her.
The mother-of-two said: Along with potentially millions of others, an out-of-use email address seems to have been harvested by hackers.
Today hackers, working under the name Impact Team, published the names, addresses, phone numbers, credit card details and sexual fantasies of the social networking sites 37 million members. Around 2.1 million of those are in the UK.
Among those named in the leak were bankers, civil servants, UN peacekeepers, firefighter and Vatican employees.
The Impact Team hackers said they had outed the users as they were cheating dirtbags.
Of the attack, Mrs Thompson said: I look forward to finding out more about what has actually happened. However, having a personal email address linked to an account doesnt mean that person is really a user of Ashley Madison.
Another British civil servant, who did not wish to be named, told MailOnline today that she was heartbroken after being named as an Ashley Madison user.
The married woman also said she was the victim of a malicious enemy.
Anyone using the Ashley Madison website can input any email address as the site does not require verification.
Having an old email address is one thing. But if they have her current credit card numbers she’s caught!
“However, having a personal email address linked to an account doesnt mean that person is really a user of Ashley Madison.”
Hmm, when was the account registered? If it was years ago, then the idea that hackers registered it, then waited all this time before hacking the site and releasing this stuff is preposterous.
With that face I don’t believe her. She would have to pay to get some action.
Yeah, she didn’t notice all the spam from “AshleyMadison” about guys wanting to hook up with her? Suuuuure...
Okay, how many signing up there would use their real names anyway
My understanding is that since gay “marriage” has been legalized in the US, AshleyMadison was broadening its horizons to help the sodomites have affairs and further tarnish the status of marriage. As for Soetoro, I could see him having affairs with women, and I could also see him posing as a woman on the website. He will go to any length to desecrate marriage and please Satan, even if he wouldn’t get sexual satisfaction out of the affair.
Nope. The only time AM sends an email to your account is for retrieving a lost password.
Anyone can use any email address; fake, real or someone else's to simply sign up. You can sign up as ted_cruz@cruz.senate.gov or barack_obama@whitehouse.gov or neighbor_i_hate@yahoo.com and no verification is necessary.
As long as you remember the password you used, those actual account holders will never know (though they might see an increase in dating and sex spam coming into their junk email box).
It becomes a different story when your credit card is involved.
A lot of people claiming innocence here might actually be telling the truth.
My sexual fantasy is a full paycheck.
I think it’s about finding women and men to cheat. Or only the men do it?
Some people will be wrongly accused just because they have the same name as those people, sort of like Bill Clinton ... oh, wait ... never mind.
Same hackers that Tweeted Wiener’s schlong no doubt.
Nothing is sacred any more. Poor Wiener's schlong is not safe from exploitation.
I wonder if Client #9 is in there anywhere?
ROFL ROFL
ROFL ROFL
Josh Duggar, your date has arrived.
Ridiculous.
