Marco Rubio’s star may be rising and Tony Abbott’s falling among senior News Corp executives, a Sydney speech on Thursday night by chief executive Robert Thomson suggested.

The chief of the media group, whose assets include a range of influential newspapers in the US, Australia and the UK, told an audience at the Lowy Institute that the Florida senator looked an impressive candidate in the race to secure the Republican nomination to run for US president.

“Personally I slightly fell in love with Marco Rubio at the last Republican National Convention because I thought he told a great personal narrative in a compelling way,” said Thomson.

He said concerns among senior Republicans that he only had one speech to tell and that people had already heard it were overdone.

“He has done a lot of work on foreign policy and done a large amount of hidden work in building up a network in the US both of financial backers and friends and supporters … For all the focus on ‘The Donald’, ‘The Marco’ is perhaps the

Mr Thomson’s audience included his 84-year-old employer Rupert Murdoch and his son Lachlan Murdoch, who was recently appointed co-chairman of News Corp. Rubberio is flexible enough to have been against amnesty when he was running for Senate to then after winning, working with Chuck Schumer to pass amnesty.
Then after the backlash he got he seemed to convey he had changed his mind and was against amnesty again.
More recently he is again in favor of abandoning the rule of law.

He has always been on board The Cheap Labor Express.

He’s Plan B for when ¡Yeb! flames out entirely. He’s at least being very honest about being a Democrat in an R jersey.
Some people still have their blinders on about Rubberio. He has tried harder to disguise himself as a conservative.

I’ve noticed the last few days the pundits on Fox are always throwing in the Marco’s name when they should be talking about Cruz, like their poll numbers were reversed.
Now I get it.

Senore’ Rubio was throughly misleading when first running for the senate.
Once elected he dropped his no amnesty stance.
Rubio is a LIAR and i will not vote for him again.
