Exclusive: Hillary’s IT Contractor Did Not Have Proper Security Clearance
The Daily Caller ^ | 8/14/2015 | Richard Pollock

Posted on 08/14/2015 12:47:52 PM PDT by Crystal Palace East

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton entrusted her email server to an IT firm that was not cleared to handle classified materials, according to the chief spokesman for the Defense Security Service.

The DSS is an arm of the Defense Department and is the only federal agency authorized to approve private sector company access to sensitive or confidential material.

The agency reviews and approves private contractors to assure they have secure facilities and approves security clearances for employees to clear them for access to sensitive or classified materials.

Since 2013, Clinton used Platte River Networks, a small Denver-based company, to upgrade and maintain her private email server at her home in Chappaqua, New York.

About 13,000 companies have received FCL or facility-wide clearance. But Platte River is not one of them.

“Platte River is not cleared” to have access to classified material, stated Cindy McGovern, chief public affairs officer for DSS in a telephone interview with The Daily Caller News Foundation.

Sen. Ron Johnson, chairman of the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs, told the DCNF that the Platte River involvement “raises serious questions” about the security surrounding Secretary Clinton’s server over the last two years.

“The revelation that Secretary Clinton used a private company, Platte River Networks, to maintain her personal server raises questions about what steps the company took to preserve and secure sensitive information in Secretary Clinton’s email,” Johnson said.

The DSS provides clearances to 30 federal departments and agencies, including the State Department.

Alex McGeorge, the head of threat intelligence at the IT cybersecurity firm Immunity told The DCNF that all facilities approved for access to classified materials need a “SCIF” — or Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility — also known as a hardened room.

“It’s a room that is resistant to eavesdropping and unauthorized entry limited to personnel with security clearances. That would be a room that where data coming in and out of the room is tightly controlled,” he said.

According to the Associated Press, the intelligence community inspector general reported to Congress Monday that Hillary’s emails contained at least two messages with information considered Top Secret.

For servers that contain Top Secret information, “you would have to have very compartmentalized clearance to see. Those standards are much higher,” McGeorge said.

The DSS current mission is carried out under the National Industrial Security Program (NISP), the rules of which were established by President Clinton in 1993 with Executive Order 12829.

The thing about all of this that blows my mind- The woman is running for President of the United States. If she had nothing to hide then why would she not be assisting the investigators and providing anything they wanted to see?
AND why would she not be speaking out loud and trying to clear her name? She can’t and won’t because obviously she
did wrong. So you have a woman running for President who is the democrats top choice who it is obvious to everyone has broken the law and lied about it and worse compromised the security of Americans. I mean what could possibly be her end game? Deny , deny deny then run for president and be elected? geez that’s stupid. How long until Democrats come to their senses and throw her under the bus?

I love how no one’s pissed off that the woman sold our military and intelligence secrets.

They’re just pissed off that she might blow the chances of the Democrats in 2016. :)

Key time line from story:
“June 2013 – Hillary’s team shifts control of the email domain to an outside IT contractor in Denver called Platte River Networks, and sends the original server hardware to a data center facility in New Jersey, where it is erased.”

By the time the server arrived in Plate River’s hands, the original HD was already gone; so what was the point of sending the server box to some firm in Denver, if it no longer contained any of the emails?

A contribution by Plate to Hillary’s fund makes no sense in light of her sending her now useless server to them. And what was Plate doing with the server anyway?

The more you dig into the weeds the stranger this story becomes.

For her to receive those classified and top secret messages, someone had to receive them, delete the security classification banner, forward them to her or her admin on an unclassified network. The latter two steps are violation of the law.

Or they are the ones who forwarded it and removed the classification levels, so it is they who violated all those rules.

Good thing they did — or else those last two messages would have been deleted and shredded with all the others.

I hope her security is good.. I want her to stay safe so that when her 3 ring circus of lawless and corrupt cronies, lawyers, and front men and organizations finally falls apart she and they can be adequately interrogated to find out the length and breadth that our national security has been compromised. I’m afraid it is getting close to the point that Soros and the DNC may feel it would be better to just make this problem go away - but we really, really need to find out how far all of this extends and find all the termite ridden rotten boards in the structure of our countries national security and interests. Sigh.... I have heard the stories of Hilary’s rottenness most of my adult life and just cant believe she has gotten away with it for so long, now it looks like she’s sold out the entire country.

Old Military Rule: Defend the most that which you fear losing the most.

Also, she is from the class of Dem lawyers who think if you can get away with something, it is ethical and right that you should do so.

They’re just pissed off that she might blow the chances of the Democrats in 2016. :)

Blowing enough Democrats would be her only chance.

But I don't think, at this point, that even Al Gore would say "Yes."

That actually works reasonably well.

She attacked the victims of her husband.
She held her own privacy ahead of the good of the country and illegally as well by definition of her job.

And that Foundation, heard it is to die for.

There is no reason to think that Platte River Networks knew that there was secret stuff on the Clinton server. After all, it would be illegal for Clinton to have secret stuff on that server.

I doubt that they have any liability, criminal wise. They simply didn’t know that the Clintons run a criminal network.

Another story today says this same company is accused of created software to help congress critters avoid leaving a trace or track of their communications.

Maybe that is why Clinton picked them. If that was what they were doing, no doubt Hillary knew about them.
