Washington - Commemorating the legacy of Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru and Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel ahead of India's 69th Independence Day, US Secretary of State John Kerry has said India has stood as a beacon for the world.

"Since 1947, India has stood as a beacon for the world, as an economic power that prides innovation, as a resilient democracy in the face of terror and as a strategic power that upholds international norms," Kerry said in his Independence Day message on behalf of US President Barack Obama. "As the world's largest democracies, the US and India stand side by side in defending and promoting the freedoms and values we hold," he said on Thursday.

"As was highlighted during President Obama's visit for India's Republic Day in January, the US takes pride in our indispensable partnership with India, a friendship built on our shared democratic values, the entrepreneurial spirit of our people, and our shared interests," Kerry said. Sending best wishes to the people of India on the occasion of Independence Day, Kerry said, "Today we commemorate the legacy of India's freedom fighters including Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru and Sardar Patel, whose message of nonviolence established a united, inclusive republic and served to inspire leaders from around the globe." Kerry, who has made several trips to India, said on his many visits over the years that he never cease to be amazed by India's rich national identity.

"From the snow-capped peaks of the Himalayas to the jungles of the Western Ghats, India is a stunningly beautiful landscape with rich cultures, histories and peoples united under one nation," Kerry added.

Kerry demonstrates once again why he is considered to be as stupid as he actually is.

Except for the first 40 years of that when it stood as a beacon of Socialist failures.

OK, I get it now. While we have Obama off on his golf tour, we get J.F.Kerry to fill in the sound bites. He feels very at home in Cuba, but won’t stay there. The US Dollar will be hurt if we don’t pass the Iran Nuke Deal. India is a beacon but their educated won’t stay there. Worse, the ones that do keep calling here to tell me my computer is sick and they’ll fix it for me in fractured Indiaglish.

PS: Is John (I served in Vietnam) Kerry perhaps looking for another promotion?

Beacon? Wouldn’t that imply that people would want to immigrate to India? Kerry might be on to something. Now we just have to figure out how to get 40 million or so people to leave American to go to India.

Does anyone seriously believe that India was greateer in 1947 than it was in 1946?

Now we know which third world nation Obama is using for a model. Generational socialism, mind-numbing bureaucracy, regular Muslim terror attacks; run by an elite who live like Pashas. Everyone else poops in the street.
