Here were Kellys questions, one by one. As the debate went on, her quotient of informational questions to headline-grabbing ones went up. But early on, during the highly anticipated beginning of the first debate of this presidential news cycle, it was a ratings-garnering fireworks show:

Loaded questions (informal fallacies, gotcha questions...pick your poison) or great journalism?
Blood-free post.
A lot of prior watchers will no longer view her version of GOOD journalism.
How does Megyn “Hair Extension” Kelly keep her hair extensions out of her soup?
Won’t watch her. I am not a Trump fan , but the way she acted disgusted me and now she is so drunk on her power and ego she actually thinks she did a good job and we are too stupid to understand.
It’d good to see at least one of the guys from Poison had a fallback career.
I'm not so sure those gotcha questions grab ratings. Or at least they probably lose as many or more viewers as they might gain.
I shut it off.
I wonder what the definition of “debate” is.
Isn’t it supposed to have points and rebuttals between participants?
What happened to all that?
I think those kind of questions would be fine in a one on one interview, but not a 10 person debate. In an interview, the candidate can respond fairly, including debunking the premise. Unfortunately the media seems to think their role as debate moderators is to attack the candidates rather than clarify their positions on common issues.
BTW, where is the outrage over Chris Wallace? He was far worse, IMHO, than Kelly. He never even allowed Trump to finish a sentence without interrupting and claiming he wasn’t answering, then gave that smug smirk to show how dumb he thought Trump was.
The Power of Arrogance: Donald Trump’s Campaign.
Good journslism in the election setting is eliciting facts about the candidates policy positions not doing a hit job to destroy his/her reputation. Think Megyn would ask similar questons of Clinton?
Read that her ratings last night were at an all time high. I suppose she’ll gain the rats and lose the conservatives but maybe it will take a while.
I don’t see how gotcha questions based on twisted “facts” is good journalism.
Since when is there “good” journalism anymore?
I love her show but as soon as they started covering the “We Hate Whitey” protests I turned it off. I’ve had enough of seeing these dregs of society get free publicity.
The candidates’ gaffes and potentially offensive statements mean far more to the general election voters than their policy positions. A candidate with a big mouth that insults people should be asked to explain that. It’s a relevant issue.
I’ll take that any day over Crusty Crowley.
A “debate” stage is not a courtroom. And, this is not gotcha question cross examination.
Nor, did she exercise good journalism.
