Wow! They are good. I would have thought suicide or at least natural causes. LOL, "he had such a strong wish to die that he chopped off his head, and then climbed into a suitcase, locking it from the inside. A concerned passerby noted the abandoned suitcase and moved it to a remote location where it was later found, apparently not noticing the head that had rolled away from the scene."

If the suitcase had been found in Arkansas: suicide.
Of course, the ruling of homicide is only provisional, until they find out the race and immigration status of the suspect.

it is theoretically possible he could have died of suicide or stroke or whatever and then some nut decided to dismember him. Possible but the odds against it are very high to say the least.Yes, relative receiving bennies, maybe? Don't want that gravy train to end...
Not saying that's what happened here, but how many other stories have you seen where someone in the family hides Granny's death from everyone to continue collecting SSI, etc...?
