SAN FRANCISCO The San Francisco Medical Examiner says a man whose dismembered body was found in a suitcase is a homicide victim.
The San Francisco Chronicle reports (http://bit.ly/1DGxg6F) Tuesday that authorities have not said if they've located a crime scene in the killing of 58-year-old Omar Shahwan.
The determination means authorities believe Shahwan was killed before he was dismembered.
His headless torso was stuffed in a suitcase and left in front of a store about a week after he left his suburban San Francisco home on Jan. 21. His leg was tossed into a nearby trash bin, and his head and hands remain missing. A week later the suitcase was found. No arrests have been made.
A suspect died in a hospital of drug-related complications in February.

The San Fransicko Medical Examiner is so smart! Its a very common problem in San Fransicko.....people getting into suitcases for fun, and then spontaneously becoming dismembered. Happens all the time! Yup---the medico really has a head on his shoulders.

Yes, and just look at how quickly the San Francisco medical examiner was in making this determination. Victim’s body parts start showing up in January and the article is dated today. Hmmm...

I call it a case of vague writing, the determination means that he was murdered and dismembered, it is theoretically possible he could have died of suicide or stroke or whatever and then some nut decided to dismember him. Possible but the odds against it are very high to say the least.

Is Ira Einhorn still incarcerated? Or did the Bronfmans channel the specter (dybbuk? golem?) of Specter from the grave, and get him to unleash the self-proclaimed founder of “Earth Day” on America again?
To: rey
He could have died of natural causes, then been dismembered. Not a homicide in that case.

'No! That aint what happened! I was there!! It was a suicide!! The guy took a bottle of sleeping pills then climbed inside the suitcase!'-me
Guy must have been another Houdini! Because at some point while inside the cramped suitcase, as groggy as he was from the pills, he somehow was able to dismember himself!

There is a thread about lots of dead bankers with odd deaths - especially odd suicides. One American banker killed himself by shooting himself with a nail gun. Eight times!

If they catch the guy that did this, it should cost him an arm and a leg to bond out.
