Several people were shot in Ferguson Sunday night after a peaceful march to mark the anniversary of Michael Brown’s death. Two people were shot in a drive-by shooting and one opened fire on police officers. Police returned fire, critically injuring the suspect. Now, St. Louis County officials are declaring a State of Emergency.
Organizers are calling today “Moral Monday.” It is a day of planned civil disobedience. They have more events planned for the remainder of the day. In the past the day of civil disobedience has included blocking highways and shutting down big businesses across St. Louis County.

What happened to Obama’s feds?
Anyone else notice the ongoing contradiction?
Blacks and various liberal types say that young black men are unfairly targeted by police. They say that young black men are unfairly stereotyped as likely to be violent.
The contradiction is that when we have these protests, violence seems to frequently happen, which reinforces the stereotype they are allegedly trying so hard to prove is wrong.
Are you sure that wasn't representative of Brown? I've seen pictures of him.
Agitate from the top, pay some provocateurs to insure violence, create chaos, send the fed in to fix it which was the entire goal to begin with....that is if you want to federalize the police force.

I read someplace earlier that authorities didn’t know if the shooting was related to the “protest”.

And once again, where is Missouri Governor Jay Nixon(D)? They knew the anniversary was coming, yet he did nothing to send additional state troopers into Ferguson, or place the National Guard on stand-by.
Of course, Nixon is the guy who invented the “let it burn” philosophy of maintaining public order, long before it became fashionable in Baltimore. But then again, Nixon knows where his party has to harvest lots of votes to have a chance in state-wide elections.
Nixon will let the “yuts” run wild for three or four days, then deploy the guard around public buildings, as he did on previous occasions.
I see the Cardinals open a home stand tomorrow night. What are the odds the protestors will try to replicate their “success” in Baltimore, where they were forced to play a game before an empty stadium.
Having grown up in Missouri, I’d say trying to disrupt a Cardinals game is probably the quickest ticket for the rioters to suffer bodily harm. St. Louis is probably the biggest baseball town in America and the Cardinals are an institution. Fans won’t take kindly to their night at the ballpark being disrupted by “memorial riots” for the gentle giant.
I heard that about the pigs head this morning. Supposedly it had the name Darrin Wilson on it.
These were not “peaceful protesters”.
