Trump and Fox said to be in talks over Monday interview
CNN ^

Posted on 08/10/2015 6:59:32 AM PDT by RoosterRedux

Donald Trump and the Fox News Channel are in talks about Trump possibly appearing on Fox on Monday night, according to a source with knowledge of the talks.

Trump has been lambasting Fox for days, ever since he was challenged in last week's GOP debate.

It is "highly unlikely" Trump would appear at 9 p.m. with host Megyn Kelly, the source said, and that's probably an understatement. Trump has repeatedly and personally insulted Kelly in recent days.

But talks are underway about a Trump interview with another prime time host, like Sean Hannity, the source said, adding that nothing had been confirmed as of Monday morning.

In the meantime, Fox has dramatically ratcheted down its coverage of Trump. It hasn't covered Trump's criticisms of Kelly and the two other debate moderators, Chris Wallace and Bret Baier.

Trump's most recent tweet about Fox came on Sunday afternoon: "It amazes me that other networks seem to treat me so much better than Fox News. I brought them the biggest ratings in history, and I get zip!"

This is a true clash of titans. Fox News is the favored network of Republicans, and Trump is the Republican campaign front-runner.

Silly posts?

Yet, you feel compelled to respond? I love it.

BTW, if they are silly, why not refute me if I am wrong?

In deal making, you never trust anyone unless you have a signed airtight contract or leverage.

He won't get a contract because that would be impossible, but his use of 3rd party leverage is a powerful tool.

The upshot of last week (that his support was still solid after a failed assassination attempt) showed Ailes and the GOPe that a 3rd part run would not only kill the GOP but probably give a victory to Trump.

Just guessing, of course, but I imagine Ailes and Priebus offered a quid pro quo to play nice in exchange for a pledge. Trump probably said "let's see how nice you can play."

Trump is a master at deal making, and they are amateurs in comparison.

You want a format where first of all the moderators are neutral and in the background and secondly the topic is open for discussion among all of the candidates for a meaningful period of time. Meaningful discussion among ALL of the candidates about the SAME topic.

“Kelly does not want to be seen as a victim; rather, she wants to stay above the fray and be seen as an independent-minded journalist.”

“Wants to stay above the fray”? “Stay”? And “be seen as an independent-minded journalist”

If that was her objective, she’s an abject failure.

She’s next. Still need to see in her long relationship with Clinton Foundation if she was paid. Or maybe how she was paid.

If Trump goes on FOX he should insist the debate controversy is FINISHED and get back on the issues facing the country

Trump's real value is bringing the fight to the #1 threat to our liberty & freedom.

And no, it's not illegal aliens, islamic terrorism, nuclear adversarial states, or any of the other issues posing significant dangers to the republic.

The #1 threat to our freedom is the media/DC cartel. Just like many cannot name terrorism for what/who it actually is, some cannot fully bring themselves to admitting that the existing political cartel is actively opposed to the interests of the citizenry.

Once you wrap your head around that concept, it doesn't really matter what label one chooses to assign to the respective candidates. There is only one person (at the moment) who is being attacked, and counter-attacking in return, our collective enemy.

The enemy of my enemy is my friend. Learn it, know it, live it. As many here well understand, this country, and the principles for which it stands, is toast. This is the final battle; if Trump (or someone of similar focus) retreats and the cartel wins, Jim might as well shut down FR. There won't be any more reason to stave off the outcome.

Mr. Donald Trump called Morning Joe's show this morning.

Scarborough asked Trump about Fox and either asked if the two were talking or suggested that the two need to get back together.

Trump told him he didn't want to talk about it....LOL.

Thought :
Trump must have a method to do intensive background investigation on any future employee. He know people who knows people who knows folks on the street of NYC. If Kelly (or any other) would ne so brazen to go on Stern and have those pictures taken publicly what is or was she doing privately

Hannity or Greta would be fair. This isn’t about the moment, this is about ridding ourselves of the liberal plague in 2016. Trump for all of his good in bringing up serious issues about immigration, Iran, etc., has a tendency to say stuff which, fair or not is used by the other side. His blood whatever remark, later claiming to mean nose, doesn’t pass the smell test. He should have left it alone. It would have been better. Or maybe in the original comment he could have said she had blood coming out of her eyes, and left it there. If he had done that, most everyone would have said he was justified. Megyn did a hatchet job on him, and was diverting from the issues of the campaign. In the 1st debate, we want to hear what all have to say about immigration, and Iran, which are the two hottest issues at the moment. Instead Megyn comes up with nonsense about “The Apprentice” which is irrelevant to what is going on today. Levin said, FOX appeared to have an agenda. He is right in my opinion. But coming up with this ‘nose’ thing Trump plays into the agenda. Megyn shouldn’t be a moderator of the next FOX debate. She can’t be trusted. Not only because of Trump, but also because of questions to Cruz and Walker mocking their religious faith. Let her go join ABC with Stephanopolous, and moderate a Democrat debate. Replace her with Greta or Laura Ingraham. This is a Republican debate for Republican voters, and Republicans like me want to hear what the Republican candidates have to say on the issues. Let there be non-Republicans on the panel, like Greta who would in my mind, be fair. Old Chris Wallace is a lib curmudgeon, and without Megyn, he can be a devil’s advocate, giving the candidates something to help people see how good they are on their feet. Lose Megyn for someone else female, and lets see if the 2nd debate will give us more insight we need. I am in California, and if there is still a contest by next June, those kinds of debates will help me decide.

It is quite possible that Ailes would have said to Murdoch "you can have our guys try to assassinate Trump, but be aware...it might backfire on us bigtime."

Then, after it did indeed backfire, Murdoch might have said..."Okay, you were right. I give. Go apologize to Trump and win him back."

I suggest this because Ailes is a ratings man. He knows Trump is a big draw.

We'll know for sure when see guys like Stephen Hayes and Krauthammer change their tunes.

They start it, they keep up. Of course Trump is going to defend himself. America stopped defending itself against PC and lies. It's what brought America to where it is. Enough of that s***.

MSM and their political associates would love for Trump to ignore this massive 3rd rate political sham setup they billed as a "debate".

Btw, there is plenty of time to discuss the real issues, the election is a long way off.

The directive has gone down that no one on FOX news can say anything positive about Donald Trump.

Looks like they may change their tune as trying to sideline Trump with more tantrum style "spin" of his comments will cost them money.

Of course, like most of the media--see MSNBC--they don't care as much about the money as they do their agenda.

Looks like FOX has followed the lead of most other prominent news outlets and has become another wing of the DNC.
