Eccentric tech millionaire John McAfee has been arrested in Tennessee after being caught driving under the influence and for illegal gun possession, police say.
McAfee, who created the virus-scanning software by the same name, was found driving erratically along a road in Henderson County on Sunday night and was arrested, police said.
McAfee later admitted to being under the influence of Xanax, but said it was a new prescription and he was not aware it would impair his driving.

must have missed the “Do not Drive or Operate Heavy Equipment” warning.
He thought that meant a back-hoe or caterpillar.. :)
Just great!
That means tha all of us who just got new machines, and paid the fee for the mcafee product, are now guilty of aiding and abetting an adult delinquent!
McAffee AV is crap. Microsoft’s freebie is better.
Soooo....what happened with the dead neighbor down south of the border and him on the run to other countries?
Now he’s back in the USA? Never knew that.
I loved hks book “The Control of Nature”, and I’m told his book about oranges is very interesting too.
Oh wait: McPhee. Not McAfee.
McAfee, who created the virus-scanning software THAT IS A VIRUS...............THERE, FIXED IT..................
Entirely irrelevant. He hasn't had anything to do with the product or company since 1994.
dear dal, i use the mcAfee suite, not the ‘a.v.’.
A perfectly true statement.
[...] Microsofts freebie is better.
Well, I will agree, but only because your statement sets the bar so very low : )
Driving drunk and on Xanax.. That could cover a quarter of those driving on this countries roadways at any time..
I second that!!! Crap.
This should clarify any confusion relating to John McAfee and McAfee Antivirus:

I’m wondering too, whatever happened with that case? Somewhere in South America wasn’t it? In certain countries, enough bribery can make anything go away.
I guess I lead a sheltered life. Had to look this up. It says, at http://www.drugs.com/xanax.html :
Xanax is used to treat anxiety disorders, panic disorders, and anxiety caused by depression. Doesn’t sound like the sort of drug that one would deliberately take to get high.
No doubt, this fellow has severe anxiety issues.
Trust me. Xanax gets a person high.
