An exploit discovered on Wednesday could potentially search your local files and upload them to a server that appears to be in Ukraine, according to a blog post Mozilla published on Thursday. The company strongly recommends users update to the Firefox 39.0.3 or Firefox ESR (Extended Support Release) 38.1.1.

Mrs. Clinton and Lois Lerner should be cellmates.
Just my opinion.

Is this on all OSs?
The security bug affects Windows and Linux users; Mac users are reportedly safe, though "would not be immune," according to the post by Mozilla lead security expert Daniel Veditz.

JavaScript related.
As I've said many times before, JavaScript is the root of all evil.

As I've said many times before, JavaScript is the root of all evil. Without JavaScript the web as we know it would not exist.
It is better said that evil people are using JavaScript for evil purposes.

I am running the latest Waterfox.
When the word ‘files’ is always screamed, in this kind of warning, what, exactly, do they mean?
I do not use Office, or any productivity programs. I use wordpad, when i do, or notepad, mostly. i do not ‘save’ any passwords, of anything. i have no pictures of any family things, since i am the end of the bloodline. any writings are in ‘pdf’ format. no financial anything on the machine, that has always been pen and ink, which is the basis of any of my ‘writings’, too.

OK, I'll go along with that. I use it in my code too. But almost all problems since the bad old days of buffer overruns and image exploits are JS related. That makes it bad.
NoScript is the cure.
