Watching the debate tonight I noticed several thing that demonstrated great bias:
1. Opened with hit #1, who will not pledge to support the nominee? They KNEW only Trump.
2. Trump calling Rosie names on twitter and are you a misogynist?
3. Even whn in Trump's sweet spot of immigration: PROVE Mexican govt is sending their criminals.
All in the first 20mins.
And never was a single question framed in a way that allowed him to shine.
Id like to see her take hissy crissy wallace with her. I hate that smarmy little putz.
**************************************
He is just as slimey as his dad Mike was! I rated him and Kelly as #4 and #5, of the five moderators in the two debates.
Top three were Baer, McCallum and then Hemmer (who was also very snarky like Wallace and Kelly).
I would also not want Christie prosecuting me... I do not like him but would not want him prosecuting me. He is a zealot for all the wrong causes.
*************************
He reminds me of a dirty prosecutor on-the-take from someone like Capone or from one of the Mafia movies. I don’t trust him at all.
He wasnt there.
*********************
Yes he was. Hannity had short interviews with all of them. Trump didn’t “unload” on the moderators, as he could have done.
They worked to keep Cruz in the shadows and his answers were an indication of what a serious-focused-patriot he would be - too bad there wasn't more opportunity for him to shine and that some miss the intelligence if it isn't cadged in jocularity/emotional tirade.
...they love the old farts with cash who suck the minimum wage earners with no healthcare dry
*************************************
I was a minimum wage earner when in Jr. High and even after active duty in the Navy in the early ‘60s. I paid into Social Security until my forced retirement. I had to wait 3 years before I began to receive my SS payments at age 62.
I’m what you refer to as an “old fart”. I worked my butt off for decades to earn my SS check that helps me to keep living without Medicaid, food stamps or any other type of welfare.
The Constitution says nothing about the gov’t. providing health care to everyone. Obamacare doesn’t even do that, as it only mandates that people purchase health insurance.
You want to whine about minimum wage earners not getting their “fair share” because of us “old farts”. Why don’t they take the initiative to go to Community College or Trade School to give them the ability to earn more money? The taxpayers don’t owe them a living! ....Most of us “old farts” worked our way up the income ladder through work and education. Seems younger generations just don’t understand what it takes.
How is Trump going to answer those questions in 30 seconds?
What baggage? The worse people can say about Trump is he is not politically correct!
“PROVE Mexican govt is sending their criminals.”
That one is easy. Just look at the crime in the United States and who is locked up in the United States. The Mexican government is making no attempt to keep them inside Mexico.
“Trump is Toast”
Statement has an alliterative quality which does not make it true at all.
Really?
Dr. Ben Carson didn’t have any problem with that. But maybe he’s not in Trump’s league intellectually.
Absolutely. The temperament of a leader and how he treats people is a valid concern. If any of the other candidates were prone to insulting people in public pronouncements, they should surely be asked about it. (And Trump himself brought RosieO into the conversation. )
Bankruptcy and business failures are also legit questions. George W was certainly asked about his failed oil company. Something Trump should have been prepared to answer in a calm and reasonable way.
I don’t want pansy questions. I want to see how these candidates think on their feet and their temperament under pressure. Trump should have been able to handle himself with more cool last night, and he should not go around being whiney about it today.
Thank you for that observation. Mike Castle didn't support his own party's nominee.
And other Freepers have rightly pointed out that Lisa Murkowski and Thad Cochran did not either.
The question was obviously asked for only one purpose--to either embarrass or to out Trump.
.At least Trump answered the question honestly.
Agree.
I enjoyed his answers, too. The whole debate was highly entertaining, including the Christie/Paul faceoff.
The trouble is that enjoying a show and picking the leader of the free world are two different things entirely.
Fox did a hit job on Trump last night, but Trump held his own the only way Trump could. What also pissed me off was the ignoring of Ted Cruz and Ben Carson these men had great answers to tough questions last night, but they didn’t get the air time they deserved. The biggest loser last night was Jeb Bush he needed to finish in the top three last night and he finished near the bottom with Rand and Christie look for the GOPe to start getting behind Kasich now.
Did you really just say that Trump has no baggage?
VERY well said and I, obviously, agree.
“News entertainment” has been a joke for a VERY long time and that’s why I rail about billionaires and corporations buying us lock, stock and barrel. Oh from time to time they may say what we want to hear, but that’s it. They have their own agenda. Fox News knows who they want as the nominee and they are going to do EVERYTHING they can to make sure it happens.
You wife is a wise woman and you are spot on.
I was actually more offended by the obvious sarcastic snark in her God question to Cruz.
WTF?
You are overlooking the 3rd party component of the question. I would not be interested in someone who would rat on his (supposed) party out of ego.
People were reacting to the 3rd party threat that Trump implied. If he was being honest then he is to be ignored.
