Another ill-advised ad lib from Jeb Bush, another opportunity for Democrats.
Looking to curry favor with religious conservatives at the outset of a competitive primary fight, Bush on Tuesday repeated his call to cut off funding for Planned Parenthood and then he went even further, questioning the amount of government support for womens health programs generally.
The Romneyesque unforced error drew a fast and furious backlash from Democrats, causing Bush to backtrack almost immediately and to acknowledge that he misspoke.
The controversial comment came as Bush started to acknowledge the importance of federal funding for some womens health programs, and then stopped mid-sentence to qualify his remarks, asserting that he believes the current amount of funding is likely too much.
Im not sure we need half a billion dollars in funding for womens health programs, Bush said, before continuing with his point.

Trump has shown everyone paying attention the Way: Never give ground. Never apologize.
Any ‘Pubbie who follows that has a chance.
Every ‘Pubbie that falters will be torn to pieces by the media.
Can’t think off of them either.
Why am I expected to not only pay for my own krap, but everybody elses too?
Clinton's response "You are absolutely, unequivocally wrong," suggests that maybe she didn't follow what Bush said either.
The article is propaganda, pure and simple.
It's designed to get a knee-jerk response out of people, not to give precise information or provoke serious thought.
Jeb ad-libbed the line: Im not sure we need half a billion dollars in funding for womens health programs.
The problem for Jeb is that Dems will say “See, this isn’t about baby parts selling at all! The Republicans just want to control all women’s bodies.”
LOL.
Why don’t you tell us how you really feel?
No, no, no, the MSM and Dems won’t really go after designated loser and stooge.
And that's supposed to be disastrous? A gift to the Democrats? Maybe after the media gets through with it, but it's a legitimate point of view. He could have phrased it better and spoken about abortion, rather than "women's health programs," but I'd expect a Republican candidate to question whether the government should be throwing around that kind of money.
“Women’s a health” means KILLING THEIR CHILDREN!
A conservative university should get a grant and do some real research on that. The results could be very interesting.
ANY woman that DOESN’T KILL their child and putsnitnup for adoption has a PLACE IN HEAVEN!!!
Remember what your ‘daddy’ said: ‘No New Taxes’ and guess what happened....
Your no better Jebby....
“Pretty soon, the only votes Jeb will have is his family, the Chamber of Commerce, and George Soros.”
Well don’t forget the remaining poverty on two legs that still have not come across the border....friends of the Bush dynasty. Long time situation. Lest we remember Vincente Fox and his Manchurian Candidate (GWB) and damage they did to our demographics and taxpayer burdens.
I remember only too well. Fox in da Bush.
I’m not a Yebbie, but someone needs to explain to me exactly how health care is unavailable for women except through the Federal government.
But, but, but he’s so loved by the messycans!
