This would be draconian if it weren’t so pathetically goofy.

NYCPD is desperately now seeking alternative excuses.

When I was a kid we were happy to play with bright red plastic guns.

There shouldn't have to be a law against selling these. Adults should behave like adults and never choose to design, manufacture, market, or sell realistic looking toy guns.

If it's a dumb idea to make toys that are choking hazards, then it is a dumb idea to make toys that are a "death by cop" hazard.

It’s not just the taxes that push business out of NY...

Yes, great thinking! That will stop all of the gun crime!!

Boys can just play with Barbies now and give each other makeovers.

I feel much safer now!

I have not seen a toy gun in ANY store that did not have a bright orange barrel tip for the past 20 years.

I suspect the little miscreants bought one from Walmart and painted the tip black.

Just another shakedown for the Cuomo Bottomless Spending Machine.

It really is about criminalizing the thought of a gun.

Why didn’t Guliani think of this?

So if you are a criminal, would it be wise to paint the tip of your gun orange so the cops will think it’s a toy and not shoot you? Just sayin....

Society is lucky that most of these “thugs” are dumb as hell. It has never entered their minds to put some orange paint on their real guns. Just one “enterprising thug” could start selling guns with orange painted barrels and make a ton of money.

I’m not concerned that a thug will read this and go buy some orange paint. They can’t read.

If this had been done and implimented in the 20’s and 30’s there would have been no Dillinger, Alvin Karpis, Baby-face Nelson, Al Capone, Lucky Luciano, .

PROGRESS is definitely being made in crime control.
