Walker floats cabinet picks: Ben Carson, Carly Fiorina, Mitch Daniels
Washington Post ^ | August 2, 2015 | James Hohmann

DANA POINT, Calif. — Scott Walker said Saturday that he loves the “team of rivals” concept employed by Abraham Lincoln when it comes to building a cabinet.

The Wisconsin governor told mega donors at the Koch donor network summit here that he would look to other Republicans seeking the nomination if elected, specifically former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina and retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson and “any of the governors I’ve worked with.”

“There’s a great team of people I’d take from this field of candidates,” he said. “We could plug them right into the next administration.”

Asked if there is a person who reflects Walker’s national security vision, he cited former Missouri senator Jim Talent, who has been advising him.

So he’d get the black and the woman in there, along with those he knows.

My thoughts (which may be worth everything you’re paying for them :-) )

Carly: Heck, yeah! Fiorina has impressed the heck out of me with her campaign. Not sure where her niche in a GOP administration would be (outside of the VP slot), but she’s smart, tough, and talented enough to handle a lot of jobs, I would think.

Mitch Daniels - Yup, I can live with this one, too. They could send him back to OMB, or the like. He’s a little too “let’s get away from the social issues” for my liking sometimes, but he’d be a great asset (IMHO) in any fiscal-related senior position.

Ben Carson - ehhh, I dunno. Dr. Carson is a brilliant man, no question. But sometimes he says things that I find troubling.

Walker could be good for managing the elimination of Housing and Urban Development.. (HUD)..
just before he takes on the elimination of all Federal UNIONS... to set an example for the States to follow..

Scott’s still a great back-up for Trump imho. Cruz too. The landscape is sure going to change after the debates. I hope a lot of libs watch the debate, I think they will simply because of Trump. I know the left as I’m sure you all do. They are tuning in to see a “clown car” emptying out to fits of laughter. I think Trump could win a lot of folks over. 2016 is much better timing than 2012. No Obama this time and people are really starting to grumble about political correctness.

Reagan was a great president because he picked highly qualified people, set a few goals, gave them the needed authority and then refrained from micromanaging.

If you listen real close & focus in on Scott Walker’s tone of voice you’ll hear whining, same for Scott Brown(not presidential candidate but politician and US Senator for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts 2010-2013.

I hate whiners while they espouse their party’s line and as for cry-babies? Don’t even get me started -two people in the public eye come to mind. lol

January 3, 2011 - Walker assumes Office of Governor of Wisconsin.

June 27, 2011: Walker Revokes In-state Tuition For Undocumented Students Attending Univ And Colleges In Wisconsin [ONLY GOV AND STATE THAT HAS]

"- On Sunday, Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker (R) signed his two-year 2011-2013 budget, which included ending in-state tuition for undocumented students attending public universities and colleges. In-state tuition for undocumented students was approved two years ago by former Governor Jim Doyle (D) after the Hispanic community struggled for 10 years to pass it."...

Ted Cruz losing, in the debates, would be the biggest disappointment of the debates! I don’t see that happening, but I could be wrong. Ted is too smart to “pull a Perry mistake”, during the debates. What bothers me is how many conservatives are not doing their homework on Trump’s past and how Trump keeps flip-flopping on most issues! Trump is a fake conservative! Trump is for universal health care; is pro-choice on abortion; is for gun control; puts Oprah on his short list of VP possibilities; used to be a registered Democrat; used to be registered in the Reform Party; gave money to leftists running for a variety of political offices;...!

If you listen real close & focus in on Scott Walker’s tone of voice you’ll hear whining, ......

"The 2011 Wisconsin protests were a series of demonstrations in the state of Wisconsin in the United States beginning in February involving at its zenith as many as 100,000 protesters opposing the 2011 Wisconsin Act 10, also called the "Wisconsin Budget Repair bill." Subsequently, anti-tax activists and other conservatives, including Tea Party advocates, launched small pockets of counter protests. The protests centered on the Wisconsin State Capitol in Madison, with satellite protests also occurring at other municipalities throughout the state. Demonstrations took place at various college campuses, including the University of Wisconsin–Madison and the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee. After the collective bargaining bill was upheld by the Wisconsin Supreme Court on June 14, the number of protesters declined to about 1,000 within a couple days.

The protests were a major driving force for recall elections of state senators in 2011 and 2012, the failed recall of Governor Scott Walker in 2012 and a contentious Wisconsin Supreme Court election in 2011."......

Trump is hated by the LSM, the GOPe and the Dems. That’s enough for me to want him to win. They hate him for a reason.

I appreciate your sentiment and the nice posting of pics .
Yes he can surely draw a crowd, too. But imho that was a one time deal never to be repeated and it sure helped him at the time. It was a real battle with what he had to go through.

Early on Scott Walker abandoned his college career earning 94 credits out of the 128 needed to work full time for the Red Cross. That was very generous of him but imho he has not lived up to his full potential simply by never even attempting to finish up his college work-in doing this he shows me that he has not made full use of the God-given intellect and talents imho there’s no excuse for that. You can only get on by speechifying, looks and hail hearty well fellow met for so long.

I enjoy listening to the Donald as he wends his ways thru the media minefield. He may well commit political suicide over the coming months by something that rankles ALL of those who are being captured by his rhetoric.
The Donald’s numbers in the polls rise daily so I’m just sitting on fence about him right now and watching a listening.

My choice is Ted Cruz. Not only does he have a razor sharp mind-he knows his subject matter and is articulate and has used his education in the fullest sense of the word he is a PUBLICLY God fearing man.

I worry about his poll numbers

CORRECTION:

“Early on Scott Walker abandoned his college career earning 94 credits out of 128 needed. He went to work full time for the Red Cross.
