He shot the $1,800 drone down from out of the sky and it crashed in his backyard in Hillview, Kentucky
Unhappy dad: William H. Merideth, pictured with his shotgun, took action after his daughters complained
I hope he gets a jury trial.
Perverts will brook no check on their perversion.
Many people would do this I am clapping my hands!
What’s the problem here?
I’d pay money to see that trial...
Perry Mason eat yer heart out..
Hopefully the father would get some bucks for more ammo..
Based on these facts I sure wouldn’t convict him of anything.
If anyone shoots down my drone, they’d better damn well know the law and their rights because I sure as hell know mine.
“first-degree criminal mischief and first-degree wanton endangerment.”
It would take me about 2 seconds to deliberate that verdict.
Cool, he has his own drone blind....
Endangerment---> depending on the specifics of the charge (I haven't read the piece) I *might* vote guilty. But probably not.
I don’t suppose it occurred to him to ask them to fly over different property?
Nice drone blind. I prolly would have done the same except kept the camera.
Four guys approaching his property...
“Oh pardon us. Never mind!”
LMAO
It crashed in his yard.
Good shooting, by the way.
It sorta reminds me of not throwing rice at a wedding, 'cause the birds will explode. (The only rice eating bird I ever saw explode was hit with a wad of #9 shot...)
Is it true drones are good eating if you cook them right!

As reported here by our intrepid reporter, Anomaly, Colorado town considers granting residents hunting licenses to shoot down drones for bounty money, July 18, 2013, Deer Trail, CO, (a town of 550, that lies southeast of Denver, in Arapahoe County) was to debate an ordinance that would allow residents to purchase a $25 hunting license to shoot down unmanned aerial vehicles.'
Well debate they did the town board presented a proposal to license drone hunters and added a $100 bounty for each drone caught
I have to wonder if those drones hide in the brush and can get flushed like a pheasant with a good ol hunting dog or do they light on the water as easy target from a drone blind but I digress

As the father of 3 daughters I can sympathize with this guy, however grabbing a gun and shooting it down should be the LAST option, not the first.
First have your daughters go in the house.
Second, try to locate the operator (he will probably be close by). Tell him in no uncertain terms not to fly the copter over your property and not to take pictures of anyone in the family, especially his daughters. Also get the guys name address, and licence # if possible.
Third, file a police report. Ask the cops to talk to the guy.
Fourth, learn the laws and your rights regarding drones and privacy.
If it shows up again and the guy gets mysteriously punched in the face at least you have a complaint file.
How are we supposed to know if he even has daughters until we’ve seen them?
