The man accused of killing two Good Samaritans who tried to help him on a Montana roadside was encountered by immigration authorities earlier this year after a burglary arrest, but was unable to be deported because he had already gotten legal status, federal authorities said this week.
Mr. Deniz is Mexican, and the Obama administration deems him a legal permanent resident who entered the country legally on May 31, 2013 though they didnt say how he earned that status initially.
Indeed, just a month ago Mr. Deniz was arrested by police in Worland, Wyo., on burglary charges. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers were informed, but they couldnt do anything because he was a permanent resident, and his crime didnt rise the level of being kicked out of the country.

They can be deported for being convicted of the more serious felonies.
It’s unlikely, though, that he’ll get out of prison soon enough to be deported in his lifetime, though. That is, if there’s no death penalty in Montana.
How scary is that?
A recent imported foreign can case your property, break into your home, low crawl around that home until they’re sure you might not be sleeping, and then steal all your valuables and belongings?
This is not serious enough to deport them?
So they give them a second chance to see if they’re going to ramp up their criminal activities?
I guess it’s just too damn bad for this recently brutally destroyed family.
Who’s kidding who?
One felony and he’s on double secret probation.
This isn’t news and isn’t going anywhere in the media

He’s out on bail for the murders:
Mendoza, of Worland, Wyo., also has a pending case in Washakie County, Wyo., for burglary and drug charges and had been released from jail there on a modified bond in mid-July.
Washakie County Attorney John Worrall said on Friday that Mendoza appeared in court on July 2 on a misdemeanor drug charge and then on July 6 for felony burglary. The burglary charge stems from accusations that Mendoza broke into a vehicle and stole a number of items, including jewelry and four handguns.
A judge initially set a bond at $15,000 in that case. On July 16, after discussions with Mendozas attorneys and family, the judge modified that bond and Mendoza was soon released on a signature bond, which doesnt require the initial posting of a bond based on Mendozas promise that hed follow the courts orders, appear in court as directed and would pay a penalty if he violated those orders, Worrall said.
He also was required to check in twice daily with the court, which he had been doing until the morning of the shooting, Worrall said.
At the time, there was no reason to believe hed do something this serious, he said. It was a motion made by his attorney. Its a decision that was not taken lightly based on the information available at that time.
Sorry that was for the burglary.
He now has been assigned two public defenders because he has been unemployed.
Mendozas preliminary hearing is set for 3 p.m. Aug. 5, in Ostbys courtroom.
She ordered him held without bond in the Yellowstone County Detention Facility until the preliminary hearing.
A complete picture of Deniz is still murky, but people who knew him described him as someone constantly in and out of trouble.
Deniz was recently arrested and then released on $15,000 signature bond after allegedly stealing his father’s credit cards, jewelry and four firearms. Court documents indicate that four different handguns went missing. Deniz allegedly admitted to taking the items on June 21.
He was arrested in June for possession of a controlled substance.
But the NEA is happy, happy happy...they have willing minds of mush to fill
Halfway thru the video the liberal from Progressive radio started spewing lies. I had to turn it off.
Our Republic is being destroyed by the hoards of 3rd world scum pouring across our Republic.
I know people all over the lower 48. Everyone I know says they are being flooded by these 3rd world anti-English, anti-American scum.
There must be over 60M illegal criminals here.
No, he wasnt a legal immigrant.
Hes a DACA amnesty illegal.
He was just another illegal grass crawling invader that needs to be hunted down, rounded up and dragged to the border. Do not leave it up to our Government to deport.
If convicted in the new case he should be shot. Does anybody still use firing squad?
Ehhhhh, I do
Your head is in the clouds. The Slave Party will entice them on your dime with affirmative action or training programs for government jobs (so much for "honest work") just to keep them on the plantation. If they do vote Democrat (or RINO) then it is not a "positive direction for the country" in any case. They'll fill their kids with La Raza bile to keep them in tow, and hating America. What good comes of that?
In short, you're so full of it you are starting to sound like a "cheap labor" whore.
How does anyone believe it’s a good idea to import a populace with an average fifth grade education.
This is sick. He'll be out of the country in days. What kind of idiot judge would do that in Montana?
See tag line.
That's better. I had my doubts.
more blood on obysmal’s hands
Exactly how many illegals and how many immigrants of Mexican heritage do you actually know personally or professionally.
Of all demographic groups, those of Mexican heritage who are eligible for welfare have the highest rate of not taking the welfare to which they are eligible, much higher than “whites”.
When I was in IL my suburb was heavily Hispanic and Asian heritage (both illegals, legals, naturalized and Natural born citizens). I registered about 300 in 8 months, over 150 were of Mexican heritage. In the next election every single Hispanic who voted* (both those I registered and those registered elsewhere) voted for the most conservative of 3 slates of candidates. I turned an area that went 55% for Gore to an area that went 65% for the most conservative slate in a 3 way race with a RINO slate of the Republican governor and a union-Democrat slate.
I moved away and turned over the area to the wife of the local Black pastor (Alan Keyes types). In an election in which the RINOs and union-Dems united on a slate against the conservative slate, the Black wife of the pastor turned my 65% into 87% for the most conservative slate.... And they ran a hard right campaign on the issues.
They got 100% of the Hispanic vote. Where they increased my vote was in the Black community. I only got 30% of the Black vote for the most conservative slate. They got 70% of the Black vote for the most conservative slate.
So Hispanics and especially those of Mexican heritage do vote conservative ... sometimes.
Get the DVD FOR GREATER GLORY with Andy Garcia and Eva Longoria and you will see the politically conservative Mexican grassroots.
*100% except 1 Puerto Rican on welfare.
The number has varied considerably over my career, which included construction in California.
Of all demographic groups, those of Mexican heritage who are eligible for welfare have the highest rate of not taking the welfare to which they are eligible, much higher than whites.
Bald assertions don't fly at FreeRepublic. Citations please.
Re your experience in Illinois, that is manifestly not representative. Hispanics vote 60-70% Democrat nationwide.
See? That's how it's done here.
“Yes, and its sad because these people just tried to help him and he took offense.”
“Ive no doubt thats why he shot the three of them. The macho chicano BS is deeply ingrained in them, especially the criminal and gang elements.”
Worth repeating.
We know this in SoCal but Americans who haven’t been exposed to mass Mexican immigration won’t know how that macho chicano BS turns violent over nothing.
Your life isn’t as important as their pride.
In Orange County we had homeowners murdered in two separate incidents last week. They confronted graffiti taggers who were defacing their property.
