Dr Walter Palmer is a dentist in the human happiness business.
His website, at the River Bluff Dental clinic in Minnesota, says he ‘strives to create dazzling smiles’.
For 27 years this self-anointed kindly man has showered his patients with extraordinary care and comfort, ensuring they leave his surgery immeasurably more self-confident than when they entered.
His official photograph on the website exudes almost Saintly virtue; Palmer’s own gleaming dentures shining beatifically beneath his warm, bespectacled, twinkling eyes.
But there’s another side to Dr Palmer.
A side he alludes to right at the very end of a Q&A on the same website.
‘What are you passionate about aside from dentistry?’ reads the question.
‘I am nationally and internationally award-winning archer,’ he answers, proudly, adding that he enjoys ‘staying active and observing and photographing wildlife.’
Only he doesn’t just observe or photograph the wildlife.
The ‘awards’ that Dr Palmer, 55, likes to win are the severed heads and limbs of the world’s finest animals.
The bigger the beast the better: lions, tigers, rhinos, bison, elks, anything that looks great in his snuff trophy cabinet.
Dr Palmer tours the jungles, prairies and safari parks of the world hunting his prey.
He pays a fortune for this privilege, and he absolutely loves it.
But that enthusiasm slightly spilled over on July 6, after he paid over $50,000 for the chance to hunt and kill a lion called Cecil in Zimbabwe....

At least Palmer is honest when says that he’s going to fly halfway around the world to kill a majestic lion for sport.

So Piers Morgan, who four days ago did not know who this guy was, and had never heard of Cecil the lion, is suddenly an expert on human character as it relates to the hunting laws of Zimbabwe????? Really????
So Mr. Morgan doesn’t eat meat, wears no leather and has no ancestor who hunted?
Oh NOW Piers likes guns.
So the peace loving anti gun Piers Morgan wants to shoot this guy??? Advocating violence Piers??? The anti gun and anti hunting Piers will hunt down a human??? He sees no difference between a human being and an animal(?????
The dude is just being true to himself, which as I understand it makes anything he does ok...OK?!
Not only that...Piers just said he would Murder a hunter...when hunting isnt murder.
He actually paid over 50,000 just to kill a lion? Think about that. What good he could have done to help people with that money and he uses it for that? Pathetic!
Is anyone else amazed st how the media have given so much coverage to the story of a single hunter, who killed a single lion, and may have broken some Zimbabwean hunting laws??? So now the hottest issue in the world is hunting of lions in Africa??? What the heck????
There’s something a little creepy about one grown man saying he’d like to stuff and mount another.
The same people enraged over the killing of a lion couldn’t care less about selling aborted baby parts.
Why is it one or the other?
But butchering babies and selling their parts is just fine, no doubt.
