The Daily Beast took a predictable swipe at Donald Trump yesterday by generating some “breaking news” which is actually a decades old and long abandoned story from Trump’s high profile divorce from his former wife, Ivana. The “story” in question, which Ivana Trump herself refuted shortly after it initially broke, related to comments she made during their divorce where she said she “felt violated” during a particular sexual encounter.
Business Insider offers a brief history of where this tired old chestnut originated.
When the allegations first surfaced in 1993 Ivana Trump issued a statement clarifying that she didn’t mean the term in a “a literal or criminal sense.”
A spokesperson for Trump, who is currently a frontrunner in many polls of the Republican primary, provided a statement to Business Insider claiming the incident was “old news and it never happened.” They also claimed Trump’s ex-wife, Ivana Trump, made up the “rape” allegation as part of an effort to “exploit” him during their early 90’s divorce proceedings.
“This is an event that has been widely reported on in the past, it is old news and it never happened,” the Trump spokesperson said. “It is a standard lawyer technique, which was used to exploit more money from Mr. Trump especially since he had an ironclad prenuptial agreement.” This story might not have had enough legs to make it to the front page of the weekly coupon clipper if Trump’s attorney hadn’t decided to fire off a particularly ill considered attack on a reporter. This will get ridiculous at the least and picked up somewhere else as Conservatives abandoning Trump over rape allegations.

I'm willing to bet that conservatives haven't forgotten about the treatment Henman Cain got over unproven sexual innuendo when he was a church minister helping a woman in need, especially when one of the accusers was a women living beyond her means in the same Chicago apartment building as David Axelrod.
People will see through this pretty quickly this time around.

The positive to this is “get it out early so it can be vetted”
before crunch time in the campaign.
This proves that the media is desperate to get something on Trump and is going back wherever it can to dig something up on him.
They never do this for democrats.
Ain’t no fan of Trump, but this story is crap.
Hoping all the Trump supporters who dismiss this story, also gave Newt Gingrich the same considerations. A truly qualified candidate for POTUS and so many couldn’t look past his two previous marriages, while his ex-wife hooked up with liberals to destroy him.

Notice the story comes from The Daily Beast and Business Insider, which are both left-wing sites.
Hot Air and especially Allahpundit has been muckraking Trump since he announced.
How many times these hypocrite supporters of other candidates will have to be proven wrong before they get an ounce of honesty?
Ivana Trump (she keeps his name) just told the media the rape story is complete nonsense. She is very good friend of Donald and she thinks he will make a great president!

After telling his horrific lie for 10 minutes, she then says “well, you know how divorce stuff is...” basically discounting all the lies she just told to smear Trump.
