A Cambridge professor has claimed that three scientists investigating climate change in the Arctic may have been assassinated.
Professor Peter Wadhams insists Seymour Laxon, Katharine Giles and Tim Boyd could have been murdered by someone possibly working for the oil industry or within government forces.
The trio had been studying the polar ice caps - with a focus on sea ice - when they died within a few months of each other in 2013.
Professor Laxon, 49, a director of the Centre for Polar Observation at University College London, was at a New Year's Eve party in Essex when he fell down a flight of stairs and died.
Meanwhile oceanographer Dr Boyd, 54, was out walking his dogs near his home in Port Appin, Argyll, western Scotland, in January 2013 when he was struck by lightning and killed instantly.
Just months later in April, Dr Giles, 35, was cycling to work at UCL where she lectured when she was hit by a tipper truck in Victoria, central London, and died.

"...... Prof Wadhams said that in the weeks after Prof Laxons death he believed he was targeted by a lorry which tried to force him off the road. He reported the incident to the police.
Asked if he thought hitmen might have been behind the deaths, Prof Wadhams, who is Professor of ocean physics at Cambridge University, told The Telegraph: Yes. I do believe assassins possibly murdered them but I can see that I would be thought of as a looney for believing this.
"But its just very odd coincidence that something like that should happen in such a brief period of time.
He added: They [the deaths] were accidents as far as anybody was able to tell but the fact they were clustered like that looked so weird.
Asked who might have wanted them out the way, he replied: I can only think of the oil lobby but I dont think the oil lobby goes around killing people.
He admitted it would have been "stupid" to go to the police with his concerns over the three deaths, not least because he was "suspicious" of the authorities - he cited the example of the death of the governments weapons expert Dr David Kelly....."
GOD will NOT be mocked.
So, let’s get to the beef of this comment. Professor Laxon? New Years eve party and he likely had a few drinks too many and fell down a stairway...end of story.
The dog-walker, Doc Boyd, was just plain unlucky and got in the midst of a thunderstorm....getting hit by lightning.
Finally, this Dr Giles was on a bike in the middle of London and got hit by a passing truck. On an average day...probably a dozen people in London are mysteriously hit by trucks as they ride a bike or scooter around town.
If this was a Rockford Files episode...he’d likely be there for six weeks figuring out the angle to each one, and the only link was just plain bad luck or too much booze.
Prof Wadhams is a looney!
Since when do assassins use lightning to kill people???
Evil evil assassins using their evil evil oil corporate superpowers...
Or a Tesla gun.
Professor Wadhams is pi**** that he’s not getting attention. We haven’t heard that these were like some big deal climate folks....just ordinary grant snatchers as far as I can tell....in other words no climate Einsteins.
Why are you walking your dog in a thunderstorm? I remember walking in a lightening/thunderstorm carrying a metal object...so I handed it to my helper without a word.
It’s Bush’s fault!
How to tell this is a LIE:
1) the source is a liberal University Prof.
2) the simple fact that the dead are climate change scientists means this was more than likely a drug deal gone bad.
3) The good professor never went to the cops because he was “suspicious” of the police.
Well, they always told us Global Warming would kill people.
Maybe it has started killing them.
This may be proof positive.
Al, is Global Warming killing people?
Well....if you read the description....it’s in Scotland. Correct me if I’m wrong....but they tend to have thunderstorms around 100 days out of the year.
We had an incident last weekend here in Hessen....guy went out and was walking the dog on some trail (just as a major front came through). Black clouds, thunder, than boom....the guy got hit...dead. Oddly, the dog was ok and ran as fast as he could back home and kinda refuses to go back outside now.
It’s human tendency to think lightning won’t hit you.
After reading a few articles by other scientists on Wadhams work, it appears he is looney....but likely wealthy looney.
Well democrats are indeed very predatory..
A hundred reasons what happened...
Predatory in the ghettos, in the urban areas,
even in upper financial areas.. and of course politics..
Those for democracy (you know communism) murdered at least 200 to 300 million people last century..
probably much more.. in mass graves never found or revealed..
I suspect they want to eliminate BILLIONS this century..
and are well on their to doing it..
Did I mention democrats are communists... Ok.. Ok.. some are Fascists.. (Statists)..
And it’s hard to say... BUT... some are republicans..
From an article....Professor Wadhams on the Greenpeace ship Arctic...nuf said
It would sound more like a warning from God not to be spreading lies about His creation... but that’s just my take
> Since when do assassins use lightning to kill people???
When your leaders worship Satan in this day and age coincidences like this just seem to happen more often. I’ve noticed many evildoers have what I refer to as gypsy luck where it seems like they are protected by a Satanic force: Things like leaving a place immediately before they were about to be captured, police officer gets a call to go to another emergency right before before he is about to stop someone carrying contraband, they get alerted to an ongoing investigation about their activities because they happen to be in the right place at the right time and overhear someone talking about them, etc...things like that.
