Republican Presidential candidate Gov. Scott Walker (R-WI) has cancelled his campaign events scheduled for tomorrow in order to attend the funeral of one of the five service members killed in the Chattanooga, Tennessee shooting, Breitbart News has learned. Marine Sgt. Carson Holmquist, 25, a native of Wisconsin, was killed on July 16th when a gunman opened fire at a Chattanooga Naval Reserve support center. According to Fox 6 Milwaukee, Holmquist was born in St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin, and graduated from Grantsburg High School. Its the right thing to do.
Oh and FTMT (First to mention Trump)
I guess the President will be there as well. /s
Obama left the country.
Shows how much he “cares”.
Kenya can keep him this time.
Convenient that Zippy’s visiting his birthplace and can’t attend. Better, anyway - I have relatives & friends interred at the Chattanooga National Cemetery, and wouldn’t want BO soiling hallowed ground with his presence, as he does at Arlington, where my parents and other family & friends rest (and God willing, one day so will I).
Sorry, but this reminds me of McCain canceling his campaign to handle the economy crisis.
If he has a pattern of going to military funerals around the country the good for him. If this is just what he does as a Presidential candidate, then it seems a lot like a politician.
My first thought when reading the headline. We're probably being too skeptical about it though.
McCain was 2 month before the election, we’re half a year away from the first primary.
No comparison. Besides, Walker is not suspending his campaign, he’s cancelling a couple of events.
Good for Walker.
How quickly will the others try to imitate him?
He's too busy having dinner with his homeboys.
Agreed with Truthsearcher. This is nothing like McCain’s $99.95 Earl Schieb Paint Your Car/Travelling Circus campaign. It’s early enough you can do stuff like this and it matters more in the long run that Walker did.
He’s governor of WI .. Going to a military funeral for a citizen of WI who was murdered by Obola’s policies.
Good point
This is Scott Walker personified. he is a good man; a considerate man; a man of faith.
He took the time out of his schedule to call my sister, speak to her, and add her name to his prayer list. This was about 1 month ago. My sister has pancreatic cancer, and her granddaughter works at the WI state capitol in Gov. Walker’s office. Not many politicians would do that for a woman who is a Grandmother to an employee.
And of course the Democrats and liberal MSM will say he’s politicizing it, grandstanding. Now if 0bama attended they would say he’s showing his humility, etc etc etc >gag<
Good points.
He was from Gov. Walkers state, don’t read political motives into EVERYTHING, for cripesake!
