Why Donald Trump Didn't Run as a Democrat
Real clear politics ^ | July 21, 2015 | Carl Cannon

Maria Konnikova is not someone Donald Trump would typically describe as “a loser.” Fluent in Russian and English, she writes authoritatively on psychology and culture. Her work has appeared in prestigious publications ranging from The Atlantic to Scientific American. After graduating magna cum laude from Harvard, she received her Ph.D. in psychology from Columbia University.

Four years ago, Konnikova wrote a piece for a publication called Big Think, postulating that Trump’s perpetual boorishness is attributable to mental illness, specifically a condition called narcissistic personality disorder.

History professor Jelani Cobb, writing in The New Yorker, focused on another facet of The Donald’s persona. “[I]n all the ways that matter, save actual performing, Donald Trump is not a politician—he’s a rapper,” Cobb postulated. “If elected, he’s less likely to represent George W. Bush’s third term than Kanye West’s first one.”

Trump is a buffoon, but it is the so-called “conservatives” that are actually considering this person as a viable candidate that are either fools or trolls. Donald Trump is NOT attempting to “fix” America. He is stroking his undeserved ego and messing with the GOP primary. Real conservatives like Ted Cruz are being hurt and ignored because of this idiot.

Nope. Real conservatives like Cruz are hurt by fake conservatives like Paul Ryan and Marco Rubio. In fact, Trump is doing genuine conservatives a big favor by using his fire power to expose the duplicity of the beltway GOP.

We can’t engage the Dems until we secure our flanks. That means neutralizing the progressive wing of the GOP. That is what Trump is doing right now.

I am a lifetime VFW member and my money goes to the vets.

Silly person. That is like giving money to the National Cancer Society. The patients never see it either.

Sounds like a description of the devil to me. I am certain that Trump is evil; a great deceiver leading many to their doom.

Mexico, UN, CNN, Univision, NBC, Columbia, drug kingpins, Communist, D.C., influence peddlers and assorted American hating leftist academia very much agree with you.

Again, you have some very interesting allies Sola.

“Stay home then,, and keep your snot-nosed condescension with you.”

I will if that vile serpent steals the nomination. However, I won’t leave until I crack some heads and bloody some noses. IF you want to be a fool and support that evil buffoon on this forum, then you will have to contend with those of my ilk.

If you like “plain speaking Donald Duck,” then hang on. I will provide you with “plain speaking.”

Donald Trump’s most appealing attribute is that he has all the right enemies, and he adds to his collection every single day.

“And what will you do if Trump wins the nomination and picks your candidate as VP?”

That person will lose both my respect and vote. Those that make a compromise with the devil will not get my support.

No running mate can ever make Donnie Devil Trump palatable like Sarah Palin did for McCain.

Sorry, but I SERIOUSLY DOUBT that his positions regarding:

1) SECURING THE BORDER
2) Telling ILLEGALS that they are NOT WELCOME
3) Saying that sucking up to ILLEGALS needs to end
4) Calling Hillary a DISASTER

...I doubt any of that would have gone over too well with DEMOCRATS, that are hell-bent on ‘transforming’ this country.

Trump is this 2016 prez race’s Ross Perot -
Both eccentric hugely rich loud mouths, who champion conservative positions mostly for attention.
Trump will give us Clinton
Just as, Perot gave us Clinton.

And to those who haven’t quite thought about the importance of statesmanship, bearing, and discretion in a Commander-in-chief -
Ask yourself, would you hire someone as abrassive and duplicitous as Trump to be the Chairman of a board of directors, or want someone like him to be a military general?

He fails EQ, Big time.

Sola, I can sympathize with your hatred of Donald Trump, however Donald Trump to me represents a clear breath of fresh air in politics. He says what he thinks and doesn’t run everything by a committee of political operatives to see how well it will poll.

At this point the only two feasible candidates are Ted Cruz and Donald Trump. At this point Ted Cruz is languishing in the back of the pack, undone by his TPA and H1B stands. I don’t think he can recover. He lost the momentum.

At this point Trump is the Anti-Politician. That is just the kind of guy that can attract a lot of people who are just fed up with politics as usual. In that sense, the more off the charts he gets with his remarks, the higher he will climb in the charts.

There is a long way to go in this campaign. The funny thing is that the further down the road we go, the more momentum Trump will get.

If for no other reason than he is making both the left and the GOP go into hysterics, his candidacy is the best thing that has happened in decades.

The real issue is more basic: there’s not much evidence he’s even a Republican."

That's true of several RINO leaders and POTUS candidates.

At least Trump is not a member of "the club."
