Many Jews will tell you they’ve had presence since the Roman dispersion.
Many biblical Christians will tell you that it is due to prophecy of Israel’s return to their homeland.
Others will tell you that isn’t necessarily so, and even others will tell you it isn’t so at all.
Then there are the liberal Christians who hate Israel altogether and want the Palestinians to push them into the ocean to drown. (But they don’t believe in capital punishment.)
Bad enough that the “progressives’ view “1984” as an instruction manual, but even worse that my nation has taken Milo Minderbender’s “corporation” as its model for creating credible enemies to constantly fight, too...
This sounds like the beginning of a bizarre action movie.

1.). It feeds Obama’s martyr complex. Suddenly, the terms of the agreement don’t matter, the media will decry in unison “...it was never given a chance.”
2.). It’s a chance for Obama to condemn Israel and possibly even impose sanctions.
3.). With that we need some moderate middle eastern State to take the lead. This will be Turkey and the “New Ottamen Order”. Note Erdogan’s party members are already likening him to a Caliph.
(The Saudi’s have been so effectively triangulated they are allied with Israel.)

Absolutely. The rebirth of Israel (Judah + 10 tribes) in desperate times is has been prophesied by many Bible prophets: Ezekiel 22, Jeremiah 30&31, Amos 9, Zechariah 12, Joel 3, Psalms 102, etc.

In II Kings 17 you will find the answer. Israel was the ten tribes in Samaria. Judah and Benjamin were centered on Jerusalem. Israel was conquered by Assyria and hauled away as slaves. Over 100 years later Judah was conquered by Babylon under Nebuchadnezzar.
When the current nation called Israel was formed after WWII, they debated calling it Judah but settled on Israel.
IMHO Israel is technically correct. Biblically, Judah would be the correct name. Israel ceased to exist a century before Judah was conquered.

The Bible separates Judah and Israel, and speaks of them as two separate entities.
