Trump: Statement on John McCain
Facebook page for Donald J. Trump ^ | July 18, 2015 | Donald Trump

Posted on 07/18/2015 12:23:11 PM PDT by conservative98

I am not a fan of John McCain because he has done so little for our Veterans and he should know better than anybody what the Veterans need, especially in regards to the VA. He is yet another all talk, no action politician who spends too much time on television and not enough time doing his job and helping the Vets. He is also allowing our military to decrease substantially in size and strength, something which should never be allowed to happen.

Furthermore, he was extremely disrespectful to the thousands upon thousands of people, many of whom happen to be his constituents, that came to listen to me speak about illegal immigration in Phoenix last week by calling them "crazies".

These were not "crazies"---these were great American citizens.

I have great respect for all those who serve in our military including those that weren't captured and are also heroes.

I want to strengthen our military and take care of our Veterans. I want to MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN especially for those that serve to protect our freedom. I am fighting for our Veterans!

“When he stated unapologetically his position on illegal immigration, he earned my respect.”

Ditto here, as a Mexifornia escapee. Trump verbalized my stance better than anyone running, even Cruz.

Landslide - that means the GOPe and MSM and the rest of the libs will be doing all they can to terminate these two. I hope they have their loins girded for a big fight.

BTW, I sent an off-topic message about your yogurt recipe - it was awesome! And so easy!

“You mean you voted FOR Obama?”

No. He ran for Senator in Arizona in 2010.

Oops! I don’t have a yogurt recipe. LOL! I’ve been getting a lot of responses for stuff I haven’t posted so I’m guessing someone has a screen name similar to mine.

Enjoyed your comments on the candidates and immigration.

” George “Bud” Day and Orson Swindle, fellow POWs, told PolitiFact that POWs sometimes were forced to talk when they were tortured, but they tried to tell lies to mislead their captors.

“We were all tortured and we wrote confessions under the pressure of torture,” said Swindle, who was a cellmate with McCain and is active in his campaign. “John McCain never collaborated with the enemy. He, like every one of us, submitted to severe torture. John McCain did nothing dishonorable. He was heroic.”

At one point, McCain broke down and signed a confession. But Timberg, the biographer, said McCain deliberately used misspellings, grammatical errors and Communist jargon to show he was writing under duress: “I am a black criminal and I have performed the deeds of an air pirate. I almost died, and the Vietnamese people saved my life . . . “

Day, a Medal of Honor winner who also is supporting McCain’s campaign, said the flyer is “the most outrageous f——— lie I’ve ever heard.”

I’ll take the word of George Day over anyone you cite.

Oh, I’m so sorry!

I’ll check again. I’m glad it’s not just me being confused, although that does happen a lot, LOL!

George Day lives by the code that you never talk about what happened as POW. Day would have supported any republican running against Obama.

“George Day lives by the code that you never talk about what happened as POW.”

BS. In fact, he DID talk about it - what happened to him and others. He was a damn good man. I’ll take his word over your conspiracy theorist.

Strange hero worship - saying I despise him. But I guess you aren’t real good at honesty, are you...

“Presidential material.”

Presidential material? Criticizing someone for being captured as a POW (and spin it however you like, but that’s exactly what he was doing when he said that he prefers people who weren’t captured) is “Presidential material”? Take off the blinders, your guy is a clown. And will never, ever, ever be President.

McCain has hidden behind his status as a war hero for a long time. He endured real, actual torture - not the fake torture that gives liberals the vapors these days, and for that he is a hero. This doesn’t make him above criticism for his abysmal record as a senator.

Wouldn’t it be great if Obola and Clueless Joe were ritually sacrificed like this every time they say something that’s poorly worded?

The media hacks continue to taint the conversation by claiming that he makes “controversial” statements, when the media itself is controversial. He is credible in a non political, non sleazy way, and that scares the other professional politicians ànd their handler operatives.

All of the gopE candidates are implying that Trump disparaged veterans. He did no such thing. I’m a veteran and I’m not the least bit offended. In fact, I wish someone would tell the truth about the treasonous acts McCain committed while a POW.

And Trump’s statement about McCain is all facts. I’m glad he’s not backing down.

I’ve read that McCain was not following the proper flight path nor at the right altitude when he was shot down. He was a “hot shot” who crashed three planes before he was shot down. Had his father not been an Admiral he would never have made it past reciprocating engine training in Corpus Christi. In fact, he crashed while training in Corpus Christi.

Don’t forget that McCain condemned the SWIFTBOAT VETERANS FOR TRUTH and supported Kerry.

Does it say that Mr. Mai Van On wanted to speak with McCain when McCain went to North Viet Nam as a senator and McCain refused to meet with him?

[Does it say that Mr. Mai Van On wanted to speak with McCain when McCain went to North Viet Nam as a senator and McCain refused to meet with him?]

McCain met Mai Van On in 1996 in Hanoi and thanked him.

From Daily Mail, March 23, 2008:

“Nearly three decades later, a Vietnamese government commission confirmed he was indeed the rescuer and, in a 1996 meeting in Hanoi, McCain embraced and thanked Mr On and presented him with a Senate memento.”

I'm not defending McCain against anything. He's as liberal as any Democrat. I was condemning Donald Trump for making a statement that mocks all U.S. POW’s. That it comes from a pampered, two-faced draft dodger makes it all the worse.
