Trump said as president he was going to get people good plans that would have low costs.

How much cost we gonna save, Donald? About $2500??

If anyone can figure out a deal like this, it is Trump

I am glad he is out there on this, like it or not

It is never going away

so might as well figure out a solution that invites the cooperation of free markets instead of demonizing and strangling them

Catastropic insurance
Tort reform
Buying insurance across state lines

There are some basic reforms that could be done by government which would make private insurance better and cheaper for everyone.

Beyond that, Medicare and Medicaid can probably ensure “universal” coverage. But any attempt to extend “universal” coverage through the federal government to middle-aged people with middle class jobs is just foolish. That’s what Obama did. I’m pretty sure Trump wants no part of that.

The problem is that insurance exists at all.

This will appeal to many working class Democrats and Republicans making up a good chunk of the electorate. If he can win the nomination without the support of the medical lobby, he’s got a good shot in the general.

Let’s see the plan and the reasoning behind it.

There’s nothing to lose by exploring the options. What we have now is designed - that’s designed - to cripple the economy and eliminate the middle class.

And what are the other candidates going to do? Not a one will scrap obamacare. It would be almost impossible to do now. Can they change it? Yes. But they’re not going to scrap it.

It's possible to fix the U.S. health care mess, but the '60s hippies who run the country will never do it and, if they're not restrained, will make the mess far worse.

When Clinton was elected President, I was abroad and knew nothing about U.S. politics. The last time I had looked, Reagan was President, and the U.S.A. was on the upswing and had an optimistic future.

When my highly intelligent wife and I first took a look at Bill Clinton, my wife said: "Oh oh! This man is bad news." She was right. She figured him out fast!

However, as a physician, I was delighted to hear how brilliant his wife was, that she was a lawyer, and that she was undertaking health care and would make it work. Was I naive! It didn't take me long to know that she would do nothing of the sort. To begin with, I soon realized that, contrary to the fawning press' reports, she was not "The smartest woman in the world" but was in fact a woman of mediocre intelligence--and worse, questionable principles (to say the least).

As I observed the Clintons, I saw them for what they are.

The U.S. health care system is badly in need of repair. It would be possible to repair it. Perhaps Trump could do it. Leftists never will.

I want to hear details, and the level of government involvement. Is this a privatized market, is it optional? How does it pay for itself.

Trump knows marketing. We know how to read. The left knows "freebies" and "Universal Healthcare" is a key phrase that causes them to salivate uncontrollably. A good marketer will use trigger words to sell a deal.

So let's see what the specifics are.

But yeah, it could be the point where "The Donald" augers in.

The question is how to do it. He said using the market, though I see needing Medical for people with prior conditions or broke folks.

If it were me I would charge prior condition folks a percentage of the income to get on and we should let people buy what they want.
Do lawyer and tort reform and costs will go down.

Much as I hate the thought of "universal health care", if anyone could make it work w/o the pain and government death panels, it would be someone like Trump.

We are probably stuck with some form of it and I'd like to hear more about his take on making it workable - has to be head and shoulders above anything the corrupt "representatives" in D.C. could envision/implement.

This is what many of us here have been trying to warn "Conservative" FReepers who pick Trump as their first choice that he is not a Conservative.

Now you will see that they will try to justify Trump's "Universal Healthcare."

I would like to say this again. Donald Trump is not a Conservative. He doesn't even know what being a Conservative means. Listen to him saying it himself at the 53:00 mark. He was talking about repealing and replacing Obamacare and he added this:

Full Speech: Donald Trump Brings Down The House In Phoenix, AZ (7-11-15)

“I know this doesn't sound very Conservative. We gotta take care of everybody, not just the people up here. We gotta take care of everybody. Okay! Get used to it, Conservatives. I love you, Conservatives. Get used to it. Let's take care of everybody, please. And by the way Obamacare doesn't!”

This is by far and away a much greater sin than his righteous challenge to McCain’s lack of any remedial action for veterans, MIA’s and the things they need to have looked after!!!
