As currently written, the Iran Nuclear Agreement Review Act of 2015 would first require Congress to pass a resolution of disapproval and then require Congress to muster votes from two-thirds of each chamber to override a Presidential veto. What's more, if Congress failed to act within a set timeframe, the deal would go into effect by default. This process gets the Constitution's allocation of authority precisely backwards.

Cruz voted against cloture, but voted for passage.
I do wish Trump were doing the negotiating for the US. This is a big issue. A more experienced and less trusting Cruz in the US Senate for four or eight years of a Trump presidency might give the US a chance.
There is not one seated politician in DC that doesn’t have $h— on their hands!
Impeachment, is a word with no meaning in DC!
When Idiot stick, does not protect the United States and its principles, the cure is IMPEACHMENT!
This morning Idiot Stick and his suck-up MSM have been repeating “the Iranian Deal is great!”. That sounds a lot like “you can keep your doctor” and “the checks in the mail”.
I ill not vote for any person, that is now sitting in Congress, ever!
The Cruz statement is from April 24 - he DIDN’T wait.
Gee, thanks, Corker - you idiot!
Thanks. I was wrong.
Let’s cut to the chase. Israel will never allow Iran to build nuclear weapons. The rest is just theater for Obama’s “legacy” and fodder for technowar stories (now reading “Ghost Fleet”).
Only all but one of them are guilty of treason either by design or stupidity. Tom Cotton can't undo this by himself.
Why indeed? The idea that you can do a thing and then deny you did it without penalty, only exists in DC.
One thing I learned many years ago by watching special orders on C-SPAN was when ever a speaker rose he always asked for unanimous Consent to revise and extend his remarks, even to include extraneous materials. That gives him the ability to say one thing on the floor and revise the record to show he said something entirely different, so recorded records are just so much bat dung.
No, you were not fooled. They put a dingbat democrat up against McConnell. What choice did you have in that election? Dumb or Dumber?
The other thread said only Sen. Tom Cotton voted against the Corker bill. Also a search of the Internet shows it was only Cotton who voted against the Corker bill.
“I thought that only Congress could ratify treaties, not the President”
Well you would be right. Obama is and has been trying to call this Iran Nuclear Deal an Executive Agreement which does not require ratification. In actuality with 5 other countries in on the deal its a Treaty. The Senate should have insisted that its a Treaty and required ratification. Instead they too the coward’s way out and invented this convoluted legislation which waters down their ratification power and IMO is totally unconstitutional.
I follow politics pretty closely, but this one got by me. I remember when Corker was on television supporting his new bill. I didn’t think much about it and didn’t realize he had just reversed how a trade deal was handled.
In effect, the Senate gave Obama the right to do trade deals without a 2/3rd majority of the Senate. A lot of us are just now waking up to what the Corker bill really did. It should be illegal for the Congress to pass something that goes against our Constitution without making it a Constitutional Amendment.
Cotten for President
McConnell and Boehner gave away that power back in May. Has everyone already forgotten?
