WASHINGTON — A key leadership panel of the Boy Scouts of America voted unanimously last week to end the ban on gay leaders in scouting, the organization told local leaders on Monday.
The move — raised as a necessary step by the organization’s head in May — came from the executive committee of the Boy Scouts on July 10. A vote of the full executive board is scheduled for July 27, at which point the change is immediately effective.
The resolution passed by the committee does not require councils or troops to allow out gay leaders, but lifts the prior ban on such leaders. Specifically, the resolution “affirms the right of each chartering organization to reach its own religious and moral conclusions about the specific meaning and application of” the organization’s values.
At the Boy Scouts national annual meeting in May, the group’s president, former Defense Secretary Robert Gates, took on the issue directly and at length. “I must speak as plainly and bluntly to you as I spoke to presidents when I was director of the CIA and secretary of defense,” he said in part. “We must deal with the world as it is, not as we might wish it to be. The status quo in our movement’s membership standards cannot be sustained.”
In a statement, Zach Wahls, the executive director of Scouts for Equality, said, “Today’s announcement hopefully marks the beginning of the end of the Boy Scouts of America’s decades-old ban on gay leaders and parents like my two moms.”
He continued: “For decades, the Boy Scouts of America’s ban on gay adults has stood as a towering example of explicit, institutional homophobia in one of America’s most important and recognizable civic organizations.”

People said if homosexuals wanted a Scouts program for homosexuals, they should start their own. Well, they just did (although technically it’s a conversion).
The national is quite different form the local councils.
My troop committee will not allow a gay man in a leadership role under any circumstances. It is not negotiable. We will not take orders from national.

One of the most important responsibilities of adults is to protect children for the known dangers of the world. The issue with homosexual leadership in the scouts is that the known danger of sexual predators who are attracted to young boys. That is a fact. These adults have abrogated their responsibility as adults in order to conform to a political social cause. They have delivered young children to the burning, and they should suffer hereafter for their guilt.
The Boy Scouts will become the dancing boys of Afghanistan and since powerful political elements will protect the adult leaders, the Boy Scout organization, the law, and the media will ensure that nothing is done.

Sorry to the boys in the troops, who really have no say in what the leadership decides. Many have worked hard to move up in rank.
This is the GIRL SCOUTS (or at least one organization in Texas) policy toward males:
"We welcome and encourage male volunteers to participate in our program. All policies and procedures concerning men are designed to protect our male volunteers and our girl members. Male adults may be part of the leadership team for a Girl Scout Troop/group of girls, including being designated as the Troop Leader for the Girl Scout Troop/group. Male Girl Scout Leaders are expected to fulfill the same requirements as female Girl Scout Leaders. Specifically, men may not participate alone with girls. At troop meetings, one unrelated female volunteer must be present. In addition, men will not take girls on overnights, camping trips, extended trips, or events without two female volunteers present. "
We assume these rules are in place JUST in case a male leader is sexually attracted to a girl scout. So tell me in the new boy scouts do they have similar rules for homosexual scout leaders? No homosexuals allowed to be alone with boy scouts. There must be two heterosexual scout leaders accompanying a homosexual?
The girl scouts have a cookie drive.... The Boy Scouts will now have an anal lube drive.

This means that within five years the scouts will be an ideologically liberal and actively pro-gay organization. Anyone who disagrees will leave or will be purged. Just like the YMCA, YWCA, and the Girl Scouts.
