Sorry but catch 22 if he shunned the couple!
Taking a press article about a “conservative” U.S. politician from the daily mail at face value is not complementary to you intelligence.
Are we to believe Gov Walker or the unhappy couple? (sarcasm alert)
It is why I could never support “Walker”.
Anyone who will allow Marriage to become a meaningless, vile word which denies a human being their biological parent, is just pure Evil-—or so irrational and stupid, they have no ability to understand “Justice”—the Queen of Virtue—which can never promote vice and using human beings in vile, irrational ways which mock Reason, God and Reality.
All “Just Law” (the only Constitutional ones) promote Virtue at ALL times-—so little children aren’t warped and lied to and grow up in an artificial, irrational culture which denies Natural Rights to them-—a biological parent.
The basis of Natural Law is for ALL people to do their Natural Duty which is first and foremost—to raise their biological children. The only RATIONAL system which upholds Natural Law (basis of our Constitution) is to promote marriage of one man/one woman-—so women are treated equally in the eyes of the children and they have a biological connection to the past and future (God’s Design) which gives meaning and purpose to man.
To promote homosexuality is to force Satanic religion-—the Worship of Ba’al onto people. Total irrational and is forcing a Belief/Faith on us which is UNCONSTITUTIONAL. “Just” Law has to be Rational by definition. Pretending males and females are interchangeable is pure Marxism (irrational and evil—denial of Truth/Reality/Biology).
Yeah. I’m not with you on this. I’m no fan of Walker but what the hell should he do? Publicly shame them?
It’s his family for crying out loud.
You can pick your nose.
You can pick your friends.
You can pick your friend’s nose.
But you can’t pick your relatives.
So he and his wife posed with her cousin and her cousin’s new wife? Well that does it. He’s evil now!!!!!
Gheeze, just how many anti-Walker trolls are there on FR?
I agree. One can love and support the family member without approving of all of their actions. If he were best man, that would be another matter. If he'd done something like Senator Portman did, which is change his political actions because of the relative, that too would be an issue.
Plenty to scrutinize Walker about without delving into his family.
In his office as Governor, Walker has done some things to set a template for future governors, in correcting the wrong-pathed Left.
I have yet to hear any true retribution for the ‘John Doe’ Communist crimes done to folks in his state, yet.
I am of the opinion that he would do better to further temper that template, than to ‘jump out of the kitchen with the steak half cooked’.
He is off my list of possibilities.
The number will increase as his popularity increases.
You do not pick your relatives but neither is it love to support their immorality in this way. It is one thing if you are talking about an unwanted pregnancy. That is a sin that has ended. This is an example of celebrating fist to God lifetime ongoing sin.
Haters gonna hate. Feel better now?
It used to be I would have drawn the line at attending the celebration but would have included the family member in gatherings. Now I would draw the line and include the family member ONLY without the other person. Even then I would only include them rarely. I could invite the person to lunch by myself but I would no longer be party to a gathering where other people, especially kids, might be influenced to lower their guard against this evil. It is a disease the infects others. When society rejects it you can more easily show mercy. But when the pressure is to accept the sin, mercy means harm to others. In that case you have to choose protecting the weak. The wayward family member did it to themselves and could fix the problem by simply turning from their wicked ways.
And no it is not like every other sin. This is a sin the government is forcing people to accept and celebrate. Other sins can be ignored and the family member usually already knows/admits it is wrong, or at least respectfully declines to flaunt it.
He didn’t attend the wedding from what I see, only the reception.
As for the other, some friend said this. The actions seem to speak different, he withdrew from a Church that became liberal on the issue and so on.
Whether he approves of them or not, he surrendered to the wholly illegitimate opinion of a court on marriage.
Either way, the result is exactly the same.
I should add that I do not throw parties so the issue never comes up. I am saying what I am saying because of the lessons of life. I’ve seen this up close and we sinful humans easily weaken our values. Love and mercy need to have the objective goal of truth and purity, redemption and restoration. Otherwise those pretty terms are just cover for advancing, aiding and abetting evil. Yes we all sin. That is precisely why we must be so careful.
If a family member is behaving immorally in more traditional ways I would not draw the line mostly because the traditional habit is to be hush hush about it — to have enough shame in the behavior to not announce and flaunt it or to force others to call it good.
As an individual, I can overlook his misjudgment. It is a hard situation to be in. But as a politician he has shown weakness on this issue in other ways, too.
For me, even at a reception you are likely to get an eyeful of way too much affection. That grosses me out.
I would also ask if he brought his family, especially kids.
