Waco police detective named foreman of grand jury that may hear Twin Peaks cases

That's a truly astonishing coincidence.

Also just a bit surprising that he got through voir dire.

This has to be satire. If it’s not then this a clear indication that this whole thing is about to whitewashed. Imagine being a fellow juror and this “detective” knows your name and everything about you. Now, go ahead. Vote against him!

Waco, Texas is a “Payton Place” of Hypocrisy masquerading as a “Conservative” “Texas” Town.

I’m shocked, shocked that the Waco District Attorney allowed this to happen. Yes, definitely shocked, shocked, I tell you.

“James Head, a 34-year police veteran who has spent 26 years with Waco PD, was among the first 14 on the panel qualified to serve on the grand jury and, beyond that, 19th State District Judge Ralph Strother selected Head to serve as the foreman.

When asked if he had any involvement in the massive Twin Peaks investigation, Head said, “Not really.” He would not elaborate on that answer and deferred additional questions about the Twin Peaks incident to the Waco City Attorney’s Office.”

Please answer Yes or No Mr. Head!

Just when you think this case can’t look more dirty.. they go and do this. I guess the jury will be 12 retired members of the Waco PD, too.

They should subpoena this guy to serve as a WITNESS to the Grand Jury.

Not serve as the damn foreman.

Wacko Waco. Hoo Boy.

“...Head, 58, who investigates thefts in Waco PD’s Neighborhood Services Section, acknowledged his selection to the grand jury “is kind of unusual.”
“But the judge is going to be fair. They are not going to let anything underhanded get by up there,” he said.

When asked if he had any involvement in the massive Twin Peaks investigation, Head said, “Not really.” He would not elaborate on that answer and deferred additional questions about the Twin Peaks incident to the Waco City Attorney’s Office....”

There will be no funny business plus I didn’t really have involvement in the Twin Peaks affair. Sure, we really, really believe that.

Well, that makes it easier to get an indictment. Right Mr. Prosecutor?

A massacre took place, and the media barely talks about it. WHY? If the perps were white, right-wing bikers, we would hear about this case, and Congress & Obama would be in an uproar.

I don't truly care if it was the Waco Police Chief, at the Grand Jury level. GJ's will indict a rusty tin can.

If anything like this happens at the trial level, it's pretty much an automatic mistrial.

Cops usually get excluded from jury pools. Unusual to say the least, that one side or the other didn’t DQ him.

That was always going to be the case at grand jury. Either a police representative or the DA is, and has to be, in charge of presenting evidence to the jurors.

Only a handful of bikers were in the vicinity of the initial altercation and shooting, those bikers will be indicted/charged with various crimes of commission.

The more interesting question is whether and how the state will present evidence of conspiracy for those bikers who were running away, taking cover, etc. They were held on an unsupported conspiracy accusation in the first place. By unsupported, I mean the allegation doesn't claim those individuals had (individually) a prior agreement to rumble at Twin Peaks. The only evidence cited is wearing colors, being on the scene, and a general sense of bad blood between the gangs.

Yep.

Yet again, The State is about to eat, wipe its mouth and say “I have done nothing wrong” while the blood of the victims stains the ground.
