DECATUR COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) The employees of the Decatur County clerks office in west Tennessee have resigned from their positions.
Clerk Gwen Pope and employees Sharon Bell and Mickey Butler all said their resignations was due to the Supreme Courts decision to allow same-sex marriages.
The decision reportedly clashes with the employees religious beliefs. Their last day will be July 14.
Currently, the Decatur Countys clerk office will not issue a same-sex license.

Currently, the Decatur Countys clerk office will not issue a same-sex license.
They should have resigned effective immediately.
The Justice Department will come after them if they refuse a single license between now and the day they leave.
Good for them. We don’t go in for this crap here in Tennessee. Now, they can’t get divorced fast enough to suit them either.
Why not simply discontinue marriages by government clerks. Keep their jobs. Let the clerics and Justice of Peaces do private ceremonies. Let them fight the homo fascists.
Seems they could do that. Counties could just refuse to issue marriage licenses. When the rest of the population asks why, tell you you just don’t know. Seems to be the wave of the future.
Let folks travel to the next county to get hitched.
*APPLAUSE* God Bless Them. (And I’m pretty sure He will!)
I’ve worked for both the State and Federal Governments in my day. (Army & civilian military jobs.)
I can’t even IMAGINE working for either at this point in our ‘history.’
Every single aspect of our lives is invaded by Mother Government these days. EVERY aspect of our lives is compromised in one way or another.
*SPIT*
Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness sake,
For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
Matt 5:10-12
In 2004, Bush carried Decatur Co. by a few hundred votes, but McCain beat Obama by a 2-1 margin. Must be a lot of Islamophobes there.
Thank you, Tennessee.
Texas caved.
I respect their decision and will add them to our personal and Churches Prayer list. Dear Lord protect them.
They can call in sick.
They should say that the new “forms” are still at the printers. It’l take a couple of months.
I hope that they do or use up vacation days.
Good for them.
An employer always has the option to make it effective immediately. They did the right thing giving notice.
God bless them!
Separating the wheat from the chaff!
Better yet .....
Start a drive to Amend the Constitution.
You need thirty eight states to ratify an amendment.
26 out of 27 amendments have been passed this way.
Don’t forget that 30 states voted against same sex marriages, but appeals were made and the voters wishes were overturned by pinhead liberal Federal Judges.
Yes, it can be done, but we need to get started.
It’s more Biblical than that, separating the wheat from the tares being sown by the evil one and his servants bound for Hell and outer darkness. And I join in God Bless Them.
So did Tennessee as ordered by the governor. I don't look for him to be strong against the Obama administrations wishes. Those black sedans and SUV's may show up at the family business again. The good news is he's on his last term. The bad news is he has three more years.
