If you are paying attention to the mainstream media, you might be fooled into believing that most Americans want the Confederate battle flag consigned to the dustbin of history because it's a racist symbol.
In fact, a new CNN poll reveals the surprising fact that sentiment with regards to the battle flag hasn't changed much in 15 years: most believe it to be a symbol of Southern pride, not racism. And while a slim majority agrees the flag should be removed from government property, a majority think that most of the suggested ways to remove the flag from American life are wrong.

Good to read that some people are not stupid and ignorant.
“And while a slim majority agrees the flag should be removed from government property”
Well, that ship has sailed.
I’m not from the South but I have *no* problem with the Confederate flag but,OTOH,have a *huge* problem with what that filthbag did in South Carolina a few weeks ago.
Having been raised in the California school system in the 80s, I was taught (at every grade level) that the confederate flag is a symbol of racism and that the confederacy started the civil war solely because they wanted to keep their slaves.
Needless to say, I received some major culture shock when I moved to the southern midwest. My only saving virtue was that I never assume I know all the answers and took it with a approach to ask questions. Once I learned the “whole story” on the civil war and what the confederate flag really means, it frustrates me every day to see this kind of news knowing that these decisions are being made by blatantly ignorant people who know nothing of the south.
As I’ve said in an earlier thread, I am intrigued about ideas concerning non-violent protests against the UniParty of Government and their corporate and media elite support. If I were an American and lived nearby, I would like to sit outside the executive head offices of Viacom (as they control a great deal of what you watch on television) with a Confederate flag just to see what kind of reaction you would get. And you could have on hand copies of images and related items involving the modern Democrats and Republicans and the aforementioned flag. Any thoughts on this? I do not mean to repeat myself, forgive me, but am curious about all of this.
As popular and pervasive as the flag is, if it was really a symbol of racism, then racism would be as popular and pervasive as the flag is.
A little logic can do wonders.
Well the Confederate flag is alive and well at our house and will be proudly displayed alongside the Gadsden flag at our July 4th deck party. :-)
A young white retard with a Confederate flag wants to start a race war. A non-American race baiter in the white hut wants to start a race war. So what is the difference between the two war mongers?
The day after all the brouhaha started about the Confederate flag it dawned on me that it will not be long before they come after the Gadsden flag.
The nice liberals have decided that Pride in anything is racist unless you’re gay.
You ain’t PC, now are ya ?
LOL
So if you didn’t (if you even have a fb page) didn’t rainbow your fb picture, you are automatically homophobic because you don’t support it. Right? Or maybe, but I doubt it, there was an fb app to confederate flag your pic you would be automatically a racist. Sometimes I long for the mid 1900’s again. LOL!
I didn’t have ancestors on either side but the Confederate flag should remain as it is..a symbol of American history and a token of the ancestors millions of Americans..and yes a source of pride..
My ancestors were Loyalists during the American Revolution.. “the troubles”..born in the US to American parents and grandparents..
What’s next ??? Banning the Union Jack that used to fly over our country just because its a symbol of “oppression” taxation and the English King George ???
In 250 years has anyone complained ???
Careful now. Somebody might be offended by calling someone out as NOT pc. I’m just drivin’ the wrong way on PC Blvd. Which we all know is a one way street. Oh, with only left turns available.
“You aint PC, now are ya ?”
No I’m Southern. :-)
Wasn’t Daisy’s family name Duke?
It’s a meme for the left and social media. In two or three weeks it will settle down. Maybe even sooner than that.
LOL! But now you’ve opened up a can of worms by planting that seed. My ancestors fought for one of the NY regiments during the war between the states. Maybe we’re not allowed to say ‘Civil War’ anymore either so I’m just playin’ it safe. I wouldn’t want to offend anyo..............oh, wait. I forgot for a second that I try to be an equal opportunity offender. :>}
Most people think generic South, Rebels, maybe Confederates.
