Ted Cruz slams NBC for cutting ties with 'terrific' Donald Trump
Business Insider ^ | June 30th, 2015 | By Colin Campbell

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) thinks NBC was wrong to cut off its business relationship with real-estate mogul and television personality Donald Trump.

"When it comes to Donald Trump, I like Donald Trump. I think he's terrific. I think he's brash. I think he speaks the truth," Cruz said Tuesday morning on Fox & Friends.

Trump, like Cruz, is campaigning for the GOP presidential nomination in 2016.

The day before, NBC said it was dumping Trump because of controversial comments the candidate made about Mexican immigrants. During his campaign announcement, Trump accused Mexico of sending its rapists and drug dealers to America.

"Trump's crappy behavior on the day of his POTUS announcement where he attacked Cruz. "

i didn't know that and I suspect there are others besides myself that would like to have a link for it?

....” Cruz is pure class. So far, he has supported many of these guys, while few have reciprocated.”.....

That’s exactly right. Besides, people for the most part are glad to see Trump in the race...even if they don’t think he’ll win they do like that he’s running.

What if they are helping each other? Just a thought - a silly thought

He's a flamethrower and boy, do we need one now.

Do we ever! He is stirring things up.

You know you are right. His crappy behavior was on March 23, before his June announcement. Sorry for that mistake. Thanks for fact-checking me.

Cruz is consistently a class act.

He is also smart, if Trump at some point drops out he will remember who his friends are and be very vengeful of those who disrespected him.

I don’t fault people for thinking he offers a fresh perspective, but he’s not saying anything I haven’t ever said myself.

Your statements are no less relevant than Trumps', but by virtue of his celebrity when he says them they are heard by millions. That's an important difference.

One of the things I try to do is not go back and inspect past posts of other Freepers and to inject that history into any current thread conversation - it’s called thread jumping.

In fact, it’s against the posting rules. I’ve tried to respect every realistic conservative candidate’s position and their posters as well. I don’t have a bad thing to say about Trump (who seems to be your choice) in his comments thus far except to say I just don’t think he’ll stick around.

There isn’t a need to get testy about it.

Hey. It’s okay to think he’s got something new and exciting - I don’t. But I don’t begrudge anyone for liking him. I was there when lots of people ‘liked’ Perot.

I've heard others suggest that because Cruz' dad was not a citizen at the time of birth, and because he was born outside the US, that he was not Natural Born.

But I don't think that any longer matters to any "certifying" entity or the voters.

No problem. I’ve become aware there are always going to be some aspect of any candidate’s publicity that is, but must be, addressed that diverges from the real point of this critical time in our history. His treatment of Trump was appropriate.

I would agree. Besides which, all of the noise about 2 US Parents at birth was based on non-constitutional sources. Nothing in the Constitution, US Law or US SCOTUS is usable to prove this contention.

I apologize.

It is nice to hear Trump speak up for conservative
values.

It is good to hear Cruz defending him.

Think about this odd couple. Both Trump and Cruz are intelligent and successful. They both speak their minds and love their country. Trump brings how to succeed in business and how to keep his issues in the public eye. Cruz brings how to succeed in Judicial matters and knowledge of how bad it is inside DC.

They'll both slam all the rest in the debates (except maybe Rand Paul who can take heat). If they'll grab the attention of the US and undo some of the damage from Obama, why not work together?

I don't understand how NBC can show such a preference against Trump's political views when they're supposed to at least pretend to be objective. Maybe this combination can push back against media manipulation of the political process.

We agree on that. I have no problem in Cruz’ defense of a fellow conservative.

Oh. I don’t think either is unneeded at this point. To my mind, ANYTHING that diverts the news cycle away from Jebito is a good thing. All of us here should be completely devoted to ensuring this man doesn’t make it past those initial contests that will empower him, gain him more donations and news time. We should be aggressively diligent in trashing him any way we can.

I think we can let Cruz, Walker, Trump and whoever candidate that gets the requisite polling duke it out in the arena of conservative ideals and let it all fall where it may. My own personal belief is that the man won’t stay the course - but I could be wrong. My main concern is that I do everything I can to keep Bush from the nomination.

With that, I’ll shut up about Trump and say no more.

Trump is saying things that everyone knows to be true, even Liberals.

He will not get close to the Nomination, but he is taking the Arrows for the entire Republican Field.

What’s funny is he is the only one not backtracking after he says something, NO MATTER HOW CONTOVERSIAL, he goes on the Offensive when attacked.

If Trump was truly a Republican, he would the RINO of RINO’s. His stance on issues other than the Economy and Trade would be the same as most Democrats, but he is directing his Fire in those areas and People are figuring out that the Ruling Class is really screwing America.

It’s fun to watch. I love Trump threatening to Sue anyone and everyone who gets in his way.

I only hope he follows through enforcing those “Iron Clad Contracts” against NBC and Univision.
