It appears that, until the nation’s highest court decides to protect the expressly enumerated Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms as strongly as it does non-enumerated rights like gay marriage and abortion, law-abiding American gun owners are simply left to watch lower courts unravel the Constitution and our fundamental, individual right to keep and bear arms in decisions like Bonidy.

The Supreme Court has just demonstrated that straight-forward language presents no obstacle to a pre-planned contra ruling.

One opinion on the gay rights law dissent opinions was that it legalized concealed carry in all states by the same principle that gay marage became legal on all stated.

I think this will be the eventual SCOTUS case where the Court will vastly overreach in nullifying the Second Amendment. Based on this week’s events, Bye Bye Heller, McDonald, and the rest.

This decision was enabled by Heller, and depending on how one construes "sensitive places," is dictated by Heller.

The logic in Heller includes a part where long-standing bans are constitutional (regardless of any consideration other than "long standing" - this was done to protect the NFA 1930's and GCA 1968), unless they work to prevent possession of a working firearm in your own home.

Look no further than CT and NY when they passed draconian anti-2nd Amendment laws and the response by many of the gun owners affected...

The second A doesn't protect my librty to bear arms. My arms do that themselves. Let them try. Let them get started and they will quickly find they have bit off quite a bit more than they can chew. I would not want to be in Law Enforcement on that day. Probably a good day to call in sick.
