SEEK TO KNOW GOD BETTER

[For my determined purpose is] that I may know Him [that I may progressively become more deeply and intimately acquainted with Him, perceiving and recognizing and understanding the wonders of His Person more strongly and more clearly]. — Philippians 3:10

This was the cry of the apostle Paul’s heart as he sought to have such a deep relationship with Christ that the trials of life would barely be noticeable.

At the beginning of this new year, it is a wise thing for you to seek also. There are plenty of problems in life that can weigh you down and cause you to become discouraged, but God wants to provide the strength and power you need to be victorious in every battle of life. Such a relationship requires that you seek God like never before.

So start this year right by becoming more deeply and intimately acquainted with the One who has all power in heaven and earth.

I’m not going to make it to church today. I’m prepping for surgery. Same as the prep for the colonoscopy I failed, which is why I get to have surgery. I’ll be watching my church service streaming. For all its faults, this is a pretty amazing time we’re living in.

Thank you so much, dear ConorMacNessa.

We had a monsoon at church today. Our equipment got wet and the electricity shorted out. I managed to get everything dried out and rerouted to a different circuit in time for the service. Then, something went wrong with my bass and we had to request that somebody bring me one from home.

I realize now why this all happened.

The sermon was about the recent SCOTUS ruling...and you-know-who wasn’t happy about it.

I talked to mom this morning. She is doing a little but is not a happy camper.
