Fight or Flight -- There is No Other Option

The destruction of the most fundamentally important institution of a civil society has been anointed by five pagan shamans on the Unites States Supreme Court, but let me get back to that in a minute.

There has been considerable sentiment lately, and some of it backed with sound logic and sober forethought, that the progressive experiment could be in its death throes.

The thinking goes something like this.

Obama has poisoned healthcare, the economy, and race relations. Then there's other fiascos like the Rainbow Jihad against kindly cake baker and florists, Bruce Jenner’s gender-bending, and most recently the bizarre purge of the Dukes of Hazzard and Gone With the Wind. All of this progressivism is too much to bear for the average American, says this line of reasoning, and combines to push regular folks too far.

Not so fast.

For that to happen, Christianity is going to have to ante up in a way that its so-called leaders seem ill prepared to do these days. There is no combating chaos with a chaotic spirituality. If that’s the game, then the devil wins either way.

Take for example a video that was released just days ago by the website Catholic.org (which, by the way, produced one of the best faith-based political videos I’ve ever seen leading up to the 2008 election). Several people appear on camera to talk about the challenge of being honest about who they are, with the obvious implication that modern-day Christians feel compelled to stay “closeted” in their beliefs like the homosexuals of yesteryear.

Get to know us, they insist. We aren’t so bad. Love and disagreement can co-exist. We promise.

And while they are right about all of that, there is one big catch: The Rainbow Jihad just doesn’t care.

They hate you.

They will claim friendship with you for years and then will call forth the rabid dogs of legal voodoo against you, if your faith doesn’t allow you to sell flowers at their fake wedding in Washington. They will close down your pizza shop in Indiana if you don’t answer a hypothetical question about catering a perversity the gay way. They will scream ‘let them not eat cake’ in Oregon because a bakery refuses to compromise its principles just to make a buck. And they will, for all intents and purposes, burn down a wedding chapel in Iowa if it dares to say God himself designs one man and one woman for one another.

Want to be "friends" with modern-day Pontius Pilates and Neros? Then sell your soul or else.

The people in the video seem to be genuinely good and holy people, but they need a big helping of ‘wise as serpents’ and a little less of the ‘innocent as doves’ thing. No amount of being nicer than God is going to turn the tide on this culture war. And that’s not me talking.

“If the world hates you, you know that it has hated Me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, because of this the world hates you. Remember the word that I said to you, ‘A slave is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you; if they kept My word, they will keep yours also. But all these things they will do to you for My name’s sake, because they do not know the One who sent Me. If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not have sin, but now they have no excuse for their sin. He who hates Me hates My Father also. If I had not done among them the works which no one else did, they would not have sin; but now they have both seen and hated Me and My Father as well. But they have done this to fulfill the word that is written in their Law, ‘They hated Me without a cause.’ “ (John 15: 18-25)

Those words from the mouth of Jesus Christ himself -- the King of kings and the Lord of lords.

Is that frightening to hear, regardless of the strength of your faith? Absolutely. But is it freeing as well? For my money, it is one of the most liberating passages in all of Scripture. Walk through the valley of the shadow of death? Check. Fear no evil? Check again.

So back to the beginning; yes, sin and stupidity may very well be ready to collapse. But no, that doesn’t mean we just hit the reset button and move on with our lives after the dust clears.

Evil had a banner week. Hundreds are dead in Syria, France, Kuwait and Tunisia, while the community orgy gets turned up to eleven here in the good old U.S. of Asinine.

Only a Christian with a titanium spine will be able to see through and outlast this garbage if something good, true and beautiful is ultimately to be preserved for future generations. Pleas of “be nice to me” won’t cut it. The Visigoths are coming for the churches next, and they have no plans to debate the legitimacy of their demands.

You get that they are trying to destroy marriage and morality, not embrace it or redefine it, right?

We can no longer sit in the spiritual equivalent of air-conditioned comfort while the world burns. We must grab a hose and start forcefully putting out the fires of Hell.

And warm and fuzzy is going to get burnt away like the dross.

Flight’s no option. Ain’t no other place left to go.

Or would want to go.

Perhaps the actual choice is, "Fight or sit on your hands." (no pun intended); AKA. fight or go passive.

As Justice Scalia suggested, it is time to invite our chosen and future members of the political opposition to stand up and seriously join the battle.

Possible outcomes:

  1. Do nothing and continue slouching towards Gomorrah ( most likely)
  2. Art 5 CoS
  3. Secession
  4. Pentagon interdiction and coup d'etat.
  5. Open Civil war between US regions

sit on your hands

That's the route a couple of conservative talk show hosts recently took. Dennis Miller and Jason Lewis.

Dennis was always preaching about dropping out and that the country was gone. And he did.

Jason staged a dramatic on-air resignation (like Bilbo at his eleventy-first birthday party) and just walked off, never to be heard from again, after talkng for months about pulling a John Galt.

Like Pressed Rat and Warthog ("went straight round the corner and never came back").

No we aren’t. It seems uncomfortably more like the 1930’s...

The RINOs are Weimar. Obama and the libs are the Nazis.

It is a myth that "Demographics are destiny."

Demographics are PRETENSE. Demographics are a pretense to pre-apply a template of predicted behavior and morals that exclude individual actions and are instead based solely on a shared demographic such as race, religion, or lifestyle. Demographics are the pretense used to divide and conquer people who are in all other ways generally united. Morality by its very nature transcends demographics.

Demographics are pretense.

Morality is destiny.

Reminds me of one passage from that old Steelers Wheel song:

Clowns to the left of me, jokers to the right
Here I am, stuck in the middle with you

One way to protest this is to apply for a marriage license to marry your child. When it’s rejected you point out that the law doesn’t say anything about homosexuality. It’s about SAME sex marriages. Two people of the same sex can get married. Or does it even specifically say “people”. Let a man try to marry his male dog.

Then there’s always the attempt to get married in a mosque.

Well, the ONE thing that should lend some optimism is demographics. These people, almost by definition, are not reproducing. Don’t give up! Take heart, and challenge the culture of death wherever you encounter it!

I hear ya. And thank you. While the demographics are trending the other way and even young white kids are none Church goers and trending Left ... hope is indeed a good thing.

Thank you.

The cowardly or complicit Pope Francis is the first one in giving in to “go with the flow” and criticizing orthodox Christians for “judging.” This makes it doubly hard for orthodox Catholics.

The problem with flight...which would be my option...is that there’s no place to go. And now, with modern data collection techniques, you couldn’t get away anyway and you’re already on their enemies list. So forget running away.

As for fighting, you don’t have to do anything. The fight will come to you, no matter how small and unimportant you think you are. The way that dictatorships or even things like ISIS take over is not just by going after the leadership, but by going after somebody who thought he was too unimportant to even be considered opposition.

I doubt that most of us posters here are important in worldly terms...I certainly am not. But that doesn’t matter, so brace yourselves, folks.

The other related problem is that most people have committed sexual sins, which they regret, so they feel like hypocrites when upholding sexual morality.

******************************************

When the Left, Dems or whoever criticizes Christians for not accepting homosexuality by saying “well, there are other sins ... adultery, stealing, etc. ... why don’t you have the same attitude toward those sins?” I have yet to see very many people explain the ‘difference’ .... homosexuals, through an act of their own vermiculate will, identify their persons with a sin and demand acceptance not of the person, but of the sin-bound and sin-defined person. They demand the declaration of spiritual authority that there is nothing objectively disordered about this binding of man to sin, and assurance that this monstrous amalgam can indeed enter the kingdom of heaven. This can never happen among Christians until they abandon Christianity, which is at war with every sin.

I don’t know, Panama is looking pretty good. Beaches on both sides of the country. Ranked yesterday as one of the best places to live (US was 23rd).
And they have a fruit drink called a “Bed Wrecker”!

“If anyone has an ear, let him hear.
If anyone is destined for captivity, to captivity he goes; if anyone kills with the sword, with the sword he must be killed. Here is the perseverance and the faith of the saints.”

Revelation 13:9 & 10

Live in captivity and then be freed by the Messiah and be blessed to spend the rest of your many days under His rule of iron, or die and return to rule with Him. Just don’t get that Mark of the Beast. Persevere...
