Maybe I'm in the minority here, but I don't see yesterday's court decision as a major turning point for the U.S.

Let's face it -- marriage has been in shambles in this country for decades. I found it more than a bit ironic that so many people feel a need to defend a definition of "traditional marriage" that has seen about a 50% divorce rate in this country anyway.

As I said on another thread today, we have more respect for the "sanctity" of a car loan in this country than for a marriage.

You are probably right, this decision is the fruit of an already dead culture...the turning point occurred decades ago.

It's certainly not a turning point for the government and courts, which have been degenerate and immoral for decades. Just on the homo marriage issue, there are at least a few years of degenerate usurpations by the courts.

It's too early to tell if yesterday's ruling was a turning point - that depends on how many people will turn from obedience to disobedience; from respect to contempt, etc.

And you should face it.

Since Roe vs Wade, this court has crapped on the Constitution. This should be the last straw!

If something is on fire (referring to your statement that marriage in America is in shambles) why throw gasoline on it?

Your comments are stale, recycled leftist tripe.

Indeed. The real irony is that these people believe marriage law endows special “rights” to couples.

Soon they will discover that the marriage law of today does not protect anyone’s rights. It merely gives power to any person who wants to take advantage of another person.

Just wait for the “gay divorces” to begin. Then half of these people will be standing in court, and suddenly they’ll realize that they’ve been duped.

Sadly, it’s gonna get MUCH worse.

The homo lobby will use this “royal decree” to silence Christian & Jewish speech including repeating the Word of God.

It’s happening in Canada.

In the US, we are seeing therapy practitioners attacked for simply helping these troubled people escape from their perverted lifestyle.

Parents will be reported if they “indoctrinate” their children into Judaeo-Christian morals.

A Warning from Canada: Same-Sex Marriage Erodes Fundamental Rights

http://www.thepublicdiscourse.com/2015/04/14899/

Americans need to prepare for the same sort of surveillance-society in America (as is now in Canada) if the Supreme Court rules to ban marriage as a male-female institution.

It means that no matter what you believe, the government will be free to regulate your speech, your writing, your associations, and whether or not you may express your conscience.

Americans also need to understand that the endgame for some in the LGBT rights movement involves centralized state power—and the end of First Amendment freedoms.
