The excuse of “I didn’t support them in the primary” is like saying “I didn’t support the gang rape when it was planned but I participated when it happened”. Germans discovered how well excuses about ignorance worked Nuremberg as well.
If one starts with 100 of “X” and gives 1 away every time the liberals demand something, how does this move us in a positive/conservative direction? All these willfully blind idiots are going to run out of “X” in about a week. And then what? “Principle” is a finite commodity.

Mass shooting are still extremely rare , only a handful happening yearly or much less than that. The media makes sure to give massive coverage to each one so it seems like they happens all the time. they don't . and Most are caused by the massive news coverage.
These deranged little morons shoot people because they know the media will give them world wide publicity for weeks. Less than 50 people die from mass shootings yearly. compare that to 40,000 Americans dying in car accidents per year, 20,000 killed in drug related crime , 2.5 million yearly home burglaries in the USA per year.
You never hear of home break ins or horrible black on white crimes in the national news media . But any time a white cop shoots a black then it's top news. ditto for any mass shooting psycho acting for media attention. This is all part the news media brainwashing.

I was born in Georgia. My family here goes back before the Civil War. Largely poor and many were farmers and subsistence workers - none ever owned a slave that I can find. I don’t know if any were Confederate soldiers.
I do think, however, that retribution by the North both during the war (Sherman) and afterwards turned many against the north, and many became even poorer because of taxation on property, etc. Even with this, I can’t recall any of my family ever having a Confederate flag or wanting one.
To me, it just never seemed that important. However, it becomes important when the ‘gooders’ in this country want to erase all traces of it and anything connected with it - including the horrible things they did as part of it.
A very, very expensive war (in terms of human life) was fought over the principles contained in our founding documents. Now, we have groups who want to erase only the parts that suit them. Their goal is phone-in consensus where the viewers are the judges and majority rules - small d Democracy. A constitutional republic can’t work if its founding tenets aren’t applied equally, even those distasteful to some.
