A Nation of Islam leader believes that the vaccine could harm black boys and compares it to the Tuskegee syphilis study. But a coalition of other black organizations says the vaccines are needed and the fears are unfounded.
Nation of Islam Western Regional Minister Tony Muhammad warns members of the California Legislative Black Caucus of a political backlash from their community if they support a bill that would mandate childhood vaccinations, according to the Los Angeles Times.
Voting in favor of the bill, which may come up in the Assembly on Thursday, would be a traitorous act, Muhammad said, according to the Times. He added, They [the black lawmakers] will not be welcome in the black community if they vote like that.
As the San Jose Mercury explains, Senate Bill 277 would repeal current personal-belief exemptions and religious exemptions to vaccinating children attending public and private schools. It would permit exemptions only for medical reasons. Lawmakers introduced the bill after a measles outbreak in California last December.
Muhammad told the Times that some vaccines may harm black boys and compared the vaccine mandate to the governments Tuskegee syphilis study, in which federal researchers withheld treatment from black men.
This happened to us in Tuskegee, and we refuse to allow this thing to happen to us again under the name of health. Because they came in the name of health in 1932 ... and watched men die when they had a cure, he told the Times.

Don’t vaccinate any of them. Let them get sick and die if that is what they want.
Trust us. We’re from the government.
Ironic to me how many people meekly go along with these inane proposals from the government. The Nation of Islam guy has a point. And what is worse is that the leftists who are usually the first in line to denounce the methods of large pharmaceutical companies don’t realize who it is that is paying for these types of “inject everybody” rules. Most people probably think that “the government” conducts “independent studies” upon which to base these policy decisions.
The alternate view is that could put other children at risk.
“members of the California Legislative Black Caucus “
All two or three of them that are left!
If the other children are vaccinated, the risk is low. Besides, most of these twits who want this will skip school anyway; they don’t want to act “white”.
Thanks nickcarraway.
The Religion of Science -- after all, a renegade black scientist *created* white people in his lab thousands of years ago -- is anti-vacc.
Even if the bill passes, they are free to homeschool their kids and skip the vaccine.
Bad thing. The leftists in Spain started opposing vaccination...and infant diphtheria has come back again.
Hey Muhammad, I hear that all vaccines are made with pig tissue.
Ah, the evil scientist Yakub. Ironically he was denied the Nobel prize by his creations.
I always get my medical advice from the Nation of Islam. /S
