Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker issued a threat to the Obama administration on Wednesday that if the Supreme Court rules against healthcare subsidies, states will not take steps to save the law.
Governors across the country have been clear: If the Supreme Court strikes down the Obama executive overreach, we will not bail out Obama at the expense of the American people, Walker wrote in an op-ed for CNN.com on Wednesday.
The looming court case, which Walker called a turning point for the law, could come as early as Thursday. If the administration loses, 6.4 million people could lose their financial aid under ObamaCare because they dont live in the dozen or so states that run their own healthcare exchanges.
Walker has already said that he would not set up a state exchange, even if it means that 200,000 people in his state would no longer receive subsidies which he acknowledges is a big problem.
He is among a handful of Republican governors, including Florida Gov. Rick Scott, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, and Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, who have ruled out their own exchanges.
Still, plenty more states have not yet said how they would handle the decision. Just two states Delaware and Pennsylvania have plans in place to set up an exchange, but many more could decide to do so if thousands of people's healthcare is at stake.
In a nod to a chorus of conservative groups in D.C., Walker said Republicans in Congress must use the ruling to finally repeal the law.

No, it’ll be force-fed by a gutless Republican Congress.
I mean, they can’t even let the states decide their own flags and statues....you think they’ll leave health care alone?
Good for him.
And he means what he says. Good, courageous man.
Don’t worry. Bonehead, mcCorney and their RINO cronies will save the peasant free loaders.
Another good day for Walker....saying the right thing, doing the right thing.
It’ll go back to the workplace. And unions are just waiting to do their magic....just like they did before....which eventually led to Obamacare.
The SCOTUS will rule that states that did not create a state exchange delegated their authority to the Federal Exchange.
Thomas, Scalia, and Alito will dissent. Roberts will vote with the majority.
Tom Wolf apparently did not get the message. He has already asked for and received Fed permission to build a PA State Exchange should the ruling go that way.
“Can’t rescue” is 100% apolitical. The states are broke, the budgets are in the red already, there is nothing they can do.
Unfortunately, I agree with you.
They just don't get it. We don't want a federal socialist health care insurance, and we don't want a federal republican/socialist health care insurance plan either.
We want market based health care insurance.
The hacks in Washington are not competent design a health insurance plan, comprehensive or otherwise. Look what a mess they have made of federal taxes. Why would anyone want to put your health in their hands? And then they exempt themselves from this abomination.
The Repubs had best get out in front of the messaging if Obamacare goes down. They need to aggressively remind voters this monstrosity was passed solely by democrat votes, and fell in the legal arena because of democrat failure.
Otherwise, the libs and their pet media will hang this around their necks like a flaming South African tire.
“we will not bail out Obama at the expense of the American people,
The irony in that is delicious.
Don’t worry: John Roberts will rewrite the law and all will be well.
I love this guy.
The thing no one has looked at from what I see is the numbers
6 million or there a bouts is what 2% of the population we are talking about 2 people out of 100 very small part
the republicans need to look at that and ask themselves what part of them will vote conservative no matter what way it goes
Just my thoughts
How many state exchanges are there left now - a handful at most?
Quite a few states just gave up after spending millions of dollars and still not being able to get their exchanges to work.
Quite a few more established exchanges, but they are in huge trouble financially.
As the miority none voted for it.
As the majority they will save it.
To hell with the Republicans. To hell with all of them.
Oringinal Intent or be damned. I am done with this sh1t. No one represents me anymore.
To damn bad they will lose my tax money to support these freeloaders. How much more should they steel from me when I am having one hell of a time trying to support myself.
