Ann Coulter: Nikki Haley ‘Is an Immigrant and Does Not Understand America’s History’ [Watch Video]

Last year, South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley dismissed the Confederate flag as an issue for the state to be concerned about. But in the wake of the Charleston church shooting, with renewed attention on what the Confederate flag symbolizes, Haley––flanked by a score of South Carolina legislators––announced that they all support efforts to take down the Confederate flag from the state capitol.

Ann Coulter appeared with Kennedy on Fox Business Network tonight and said that there are a lot of people getting the history of that flag wrote, as well as ignoring the Democrats’ history with the Confederacy, the flag, and African-Americans.

At one point, she said, “I’m appalled by––though, I really like to like Nikki Haley since she is a Republican. On the other hand, she is an immigrant and does not understand America’s history.”

Kennedy asked, “Immigrants can’t understand history?” Coulter responded, “Well, she doesn’t!”

Update- 10:22 pm EST: Kind of an important clarification here, but Haley was actually born in South Carolina. Her parents were immigrants.

The goal is to enforce allegiance to that symbol of the One World Order - whatever symbolic form that will take.

I bet it would be...a flag.

When the symbol is banned, history is denied.

Yes. Most likely. The Nazis had a flag, too.

It’s much more than just removing the confederate flag from public spaces, this morning I see in the news that a whole slew of retailers including Wal-Mart and Amazon and many others are all removing anything with the Confederate decals on them. The is nothing less than PC BS.

Yet no one has any problems with a Communist executioner like Che Guevara displayed all over the place.

The governor was raised by immigrants. Do you really think they could transfer the American mind to their daughter, when they did not have it themselves? It is impossible to cross a border and leave your alien ways of thinking at the border. Becoming “Americanized” doesn’t happen overnight. If you moved to Mexico, how long would it take for you to imbibe all the subtle nuances of Mexican life? And loyalties?

I do not agree with Nikki Haley taking down the confederate flag, and for that matter I have never been too fond of her. However, from the viewpoint a red blooded conservative who’s grandparents were immigrants and had a hand raising me with their love of this country, I think Coulter is full of BS in her argument.

RE: Parents from the Amritsar District of India.

Ahh, so her parents are Punjabi.

Amritsar is the spiritual and cultural center for the Sikh religion.

I wonder whether her father wears a turban...

Ann Coulter is wildly offbase, again.

And where is that in any way surprising?

Agreed. While I don't agree with the governor on this, Coulter is doing us no favors by saying stupid crap.

The left smells blood and they are now looking under every rock to root out non politically correct symbols and thought. In Orlando the unionista one-worlders are drumming up support to remove a confederate statue that has stood in the downtown area for 104 years, and they will probably be successful as far left mayor Buddy Dyer is pandering pos.

Haley chooses to do what is best for her career.

Making a ‘thing’ unpopular won’t that make the kids want it even more. Calling all pro-legalization pot heads. Keep all flags legal..especially the offensive ones. Today its a flag tomorrow its your marajauna.

Seeing as how those of my Ancestors who lived in America at the time were Pennsylvania Methodist Abolitionists, two of whom died in the Civil War, I’ve no emotional connection with the Stars & Bars myself. The majority of my ancestors at that time were in Europe or Mexico. Yet I guess Ann wouldn’t consider me a real Americam. The Stars and Stripes is the only flag for our family.

Maybe some slow learners like D’nesh D’Souza could take some lessons on American History from Miss Coulter.

Ann Coulter grew up in Connecticut. Excepting the descendants of the Yankee settlers, most of the African Americans, and a portion of the Irish and German Americans, a majority of residents of the state are one to four generations away from immigrants from somewhere else at some time after the end of the Civil War. Perhaps she would want to disqualify the opinions of virtually all of Italian, Jewish, French Canadian, Hispanic, and Polish ancestry. If someone is 50% of Irish ancestry, with forbears arriving around 1850 and 50% of Italian ancestry, with forbears arriving around 1910, is he entitled to half an opinion?

Ann Coulter continues to undermine her credibility.

" She at least used to keep her facts reasonably straight,…"

At first I thought she was just trying to be outrageous enough to get attention. But she has been as you say, disorganized when trying to back up statements.

The interview went horribly for Ann. Kennedy can be a Tasmanian Devil on dexedrine and seemed cocked and loaded for Ann.

That means you were raised by a father who had immigrant parents. I don’t retract what I posted. Our Founding Fathers who wrote the Constitution had the “natural born” clause put in the Constitution for a reason. They recognized how loyalty is transmitted. The natural born clause was defined in the Naturalization Act of 1790 as occurring when a child is born of parents who are both citizens of the United States. You would be considered a natural born citizen.
