Phyllis Schlafly: Deal would separate us from Constitution and national sovereignty
WND.com, The Phyllis Schlafly Report ^ | June 15, 2015 | Phyllis Schlafly

Posted on 06/17/2015 8:32:37 AM PDT by Patriot777

On Friday, Congress disrupted President Obama’s plan for a sweeping transfer of U.S. sovereignty to an unaccountable group of foreign busybodies. Hurray for the stalwart Americans who resisted the demands of Obama, the Republican leadership and the big-donor claque – but Speaker Boehner plans to give Congress another chance this week to make this dangerous mistake.

The Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) would turn over to globalists the power to issue regulations about U.S. trade, immigration, the environment, labor and commerce. It’s called a “living agreement,” which means the globalists can amend and change the text of the so-called agreement after it has gone into effect.

That reminds me of our supremacist judges who invented the term a ‘living” Constitution, which they can rewrite to comport with their own updated ideology. The globalists claim that this “living” document (TPP), now called Obamatrade, has all the powers of a treaty to commit the U.S. to new foreign obligations, although it certainly did not comply with any U.S. constitutional provisions for treaty ratification.

Sen. Jeff Sessions, R-Ala., has frankly warned about this giveaway of U.S. sovereignty. Not only would Congress give up its powers to negotiate and write the terms of a treaty, but Congress also gives up its power to debate and amend the deal, to apply a cloture vote in the Senate, and to require a two-thirds vote in the Senate.

The secrecy wrapped around TPP is appallingly un-American. Whatever happened to Obama’s promise of “transparency”? TPP was negotiated and agreed to by Obama’s trade representative and a bunch of foreigners in a secret room, and the American people are not allowed to know the details until after it’s a done deal.

I have been listening to the Schlafly Report by Phyllis Schlafly for many years, and she is always spot-on about any topic she is investigating and reporting on. And this, her commentary about TPP, is probably one of the most frightening I've ever read.

Staying informed and researching encompasses a large portion of the first part of the day the Lord Jesus grants me (and everyone), and because of this I had come to the stark realization--when I first learned of TPP--that when implemented it would strip the United States of the last shred of our sovereignty. Sovereignty, which has been in a death spiral since Obamination usurped the Presidency.

In Mrs. Schlafly's article, which I strongly encourage everyone to read, today I have a new realization-- If 0 is not the anti-Christ, then the actual "Beast" is likely going to take the world stage in the very near future.

Which pretty much sums up why Obama is in favor of it.

Republican “leadership” has sabotaged their chance to get a dominate win in 2016. They might lose the House and Senate over their un-American activities.

total POS leadership and corrupt cronies.

I think Boehner has a crush on Obama, and wants to be his Monica.

I have been raked over the coals and called names for being against Obamatrade. Just to warn you. You see, Cruz, and most of the Republicans, voted for it.

I agree on Schafly.

Average American conservatives have for many years been hoodwinked by the CEO Global Roundtable and Global Chamber of Commerce on issues entirely about more profits for a chosen few....while they willingly move in a direction to sacrifice sovereignty and the Constitution. The free trade was about instituting globalism and union busting, not making the USA a more free and affluent country.

The efforts to eliminate Freedom of Speech (hate speech), and add Gun Control, and eliminate our right of equal enforcement of justice (special classes of citizenry), and take away other freedoms from government intrusion and from search and seizures all have their roots in the NWO. Every American has a different way of looking at things such as cronyism and justice, and it all comes down to hard wired culture from the way they were raised and their religious background.

Every true conservative puts sovereignty and the Constitution as fundamental requirements of government.

“There must be poison in the water in DC.”

They know something we don’t. At least it feels that way.

One thing is for sure, the Republicans here are basically saying that the current system of government is no longer viable.

If you look at that unemotionally for a second, this is a point I think most would agree, even on the left.

Certainly, it explains the ‘need’ for the legislation to occur confidentially. “Look, it doesn’t work anymore, but if we tell you that you’ll freak.”

Not a good enough reason to keep it under wraps. Texas has already figured out that the USA will likely break up. It’s the only reason why you’d start a State Gold Depository.

I think Greece is going to be the first mule to fall from the trail to the canyon floor. We’ll see what happens from there.

All of this is so much malarkey. No treaty can supercede the Constitution. I’ve sworn my allegiance to it and will not comply with any attempts to wrest sovereignty from the US.

I believe the root cause of our increasingly corrupt government that fails in its basic premise to serve the people and country comes down to $$$$ and the Citizens United decision and legalized bribery. Money corrupts. Speech does not corrupt unless it comes with promises of money in exchange for quid pro quos.

Money must be removed from the political system because it destroys honest government. In the process it makes CEOs, foreign business, foreign countries, and especially the MSM very happy.

Not a lawyer, but a treaty cannot violate the constitution because it is the constitution that essentially created the power of making a treaty. Am I wrong here?

0, if he is not the Beast, is in league with satan himself, and is actively and directly setting everything in place for the “chief son of satan” to easily and with horrifyingly results to this planet, to take control of the United States and a large portion of the world.

The end is no longer “near”; it is here.

Call on the Name of the Lord Jesus, so that you will be saved. His return is imminent, but if He tarries and our nation comes under various forms of attack, you will go to be with Jesus if you accept Him. If you do not, you will go to an eternal place of torment, Hell, where there is no escape.

Any FReeper who supports free trade should still oppose Congress voting on secret bills where we have to pass it to know what’s in it. Or secret multinational tribunals with the power to overturn our laws.

A true free-trade agreement can be written on a post card.

Kind of a bit off-topic here, but anyone have any ideas as to what will happen on and after the June 30th “deadline”?

I just tried to contact Boehners speaker office to express an opinion, and conveniently his mailbox is full. He doesn’t want to hear comments from average tax paying Americans. But you can bet his TPP lobbyist friends have a phone number that gets through.

When we call and are thwarted at the gate we don’t have a real democracy. It is like we don’t exist.
