Palin praises Jeb Bush
The Hill ^ | 06/16/2015 | Jesse Byrnes

Posted on 06/16/2015 1:44:17 PM PDT by GIdget2004

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin praised Jeb Bush on Monday, highlighting his remarks on raising children with special needs.

The comments from Palin, who remains a favorite with some grassroots conservatives, come a day after Bush’s official entry to the presidential race.

“It was encouraging today to hear Governor Jeb Bush speak directly to an issue that touches so many lives in these challenging times, both culturally and fiscally – raising a child with special needs,” Palin wrote on her Facebook page.

“I'm glad Jeb's life was touched by God's purpose-filled children, and hope he continues with a positive message of inclusion, empowerment and specifics as how we can best advocate for families who would never expect government to do it all, but would like to count on government being on their side,” she added.

Bush, whose campaign thanked Palin in a tweet, remarked during his announcement about his efforts as Florida governor on behalf of children with developmental challenges.

“We didn’t leave them last in line. We put them first in line, because they are not a problem, they are a priority,” he said in his speech in Miami.

Palin has traditionally thrown her weight behind grassroots Republican candidates, and Bush is seen as an establishment candidate.

Ahead of his speech, Bush's campaign released a video Sunday featuring a woman named Berthy De La Rose-Aponte, whose daughter is autistic.

“He really cares about us. He really cares about people with developmental disabilities, and with all disabilities,” Rose-Aponte said in the video. “There are people today that are getting services because of what Jeb did.”

Palin, whose post included a photo of Bush seen in the video, encouraged followers to “keep our hearts open” about a potential 2016 Republican presidential nominee.

Other than the “special needs” issue, Sarah, what else did you find compelling about little jebbie?

I have no problem with her praising Jeb in this regard or Jeb praising her, but beyond that we all have some big problems with Jeb.

Problems that are unresolvable and insurmountable.

It would be disappointing for me to see anyone coming out for Jeb Bush as a good candidate for president.

It would be even more disappointing for me to see Jeb Bush portrayed as the lesser of two evils in regards to Hillary Clinton because I honestly believe both candidates are tools of elite corporatist special interests building a stronger New World Order, not a stronger United States of America.

Cut the nonsense. This is not an endorsement. It is an acknowledgement of the recognition of special needs kids. Bob

Sarah just threw him a bone. I’m guessing Jeb said something nice about her at least once. I wouldn’t make too much of it

Jeb’s only lucky that his special needs people haven’t been judged unfit to live, by some county probate judge.

For anyone wondering about the context, here is a screen cap of the full post (minus the "P.S." that has links about obamacare, etc.):

I’m a little disappointed with Governor Palin on this issue.

Too bad she didn’t bring up Terri Schiavo at the same time.

Palin is an attractive Queen bee.
But make no mistake, she is part of the hive.

Its a shame that she’s damaged goods, partly due to her own missteps, and largely due to liberal media savage marginalizing.

Hmm. Instead of getting hysterical by reading The Hill's slanted excerpt, perhaps it would be better to read Palin's actual posting:
Encouraging to see the strength and diversity the GOP has to offer voters as the 2016 race continues to unfold. Unlike the coronation on the left, conservatives can head towards a positive, healthy democratic (small d!) debate on how best to restore America to the beautiful and bold dream our Founders set forth.

It was encouraging today to hear Governor Jeb Bush speak directly to an issue that touches so many lives in these challenging times, both culturally and fiscally – raising a child with special needs. Nearly one quarter of American families live with special children that have greater challenges than some people will ever understand. These families need an advocate in a government that insists it can set our nation's priorities, especially given the disastrous implications of Obamacare on the special needs community. As was said today, these children are truly a blessing and they can teach us more than we can ever teach them. Some days it's admittedly tough to understand all God's purposes, but it helps when those we chose as leaders have a heart for those less fortunate. I'm glad Jeb's life was touched by God's purpose-filled children, and hope he continues with a positive message of inclusion, empowerment and specifics as how we can best advocate for families who would never expect government to do it all, but would like to count on government being on their side.

This campaign is just getting underway with many good candidates, and many more to come. Let's keep our hearts open, but our eyes and ears too! May the best man, or woman, win! See you on the trail! - Sarah Palin

PS - you can read more about the impacts of Obamacare on special needs families here: http://dailycaller.com/…/obamacare-hurts-parents-of-specia…/ Take a moment and watch this beautiful video here: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=JA8VJh0UJtg

Hmm. She mentions Jeb Bush twice. Does she "praise" him, like The Hill tries to imply? Not exactly. She's encouraged that special needs children are brought into the dialogue, and that he did so.

Agreed. Social workers are the most destructive force ever let loose on this earth. Even Satan sometimes sits back and looks at those people and shakes his head in disgust.
