A former editor of a prominent Christian publication is praising Tony Campolo after he announced this week that he has decided to endorse and speak out for the inclusion of open homosexuals in the Body of Christa move that is generating concern among Christians nationwide.
God bless Tony Campolo, wrote retired Christianity Today editor David Neff on Facebook this week. He is acting in good faith and is, I think, on the right track.
Campolos wife, Peggy, is a homosexual activist and believes that the Church should be accepting of same-sex marriage. He explained that his wife is one of the reasons why he has decided to endorse acceptance of homosexuals in Christianity. . . . .
Mark Tooley, the president of the Institute on Religion and Democracy, also commented on Neff in The Stream.
Neff in recent years has inclined leftward, especially in his former role on the executive board of the National Association of Evangelicals, he wrote, stating that Neff has backed ostensible compromise abortion language from Democrats to ease passage of Obamacare and endorsed Jim Walliss Circle of Protection around federal entitlement programs, among other items.

Will he endorse and speak out for the inclusion of open fornicators? open adulterers? open drunkards?
Sure Tony, bring some of them home with you.Let them play with your kids.
Who the hell is Tony Campolo?
I find it fascinating that the Islamic State treatment of faggots is more Biblical than that proposed by “Christians”.
The day is coming, sooner than many of you think, when you will be sent to a re-education camp for any criticism of homosexuality, transgenders, pedophilia, licentiousness and a laundry list of other things.
Christianity Today has been pretty much a cotton candy publication for a while that discusses deep issues such as which of the Veggie Tale characters is coolest.
Clinton’s go-to preacher during the Monica Lewinsky debacle.
Whats being called for here is acceptance of their deviant lifestyle. A very different thing.
Either the Bible is the Word of God or it is not. If it is, follow it. If it is not, then is there no God, is someone else God? If there is no God to follow, then you are reduced to following man. How did that work out for those who followed Hitler, Mussolini, Tojo, Mao, Stalin, et al? For anyone who brings up the “excesses” or “evil done in the name of Christianity” I can only point out those things were done contrary to the Scripture, not at its bidding. All of them, without exception. Those who would say otherwise are either ignorant of Scripture or intentionally misleading. If you do not follow God, you follow a man who follows the Prince of this World. Your own heart is your guide and you are in huge trouble.
I agree. They should rename it, "Christianity Yesterday".
Never heard of him and who is he to think his opinions are newsworthy anyway.
I hear that “Biblical Editors” are working overtime to get the Word consistent with this new and “more enlightened” understanding of what God really meant in earlier Biblical texts on this subject....
It's like finding a piece of used toilet paper stuck to your shoe...
See my post #14. :)
>>When the persecution comes, one of the more difficult aspects real Christians will have to deal with is the large shift of ‘religious’ leaders joining the enemy.
Which is why we shun them now. Case in point: Rob Bell. I used to like him, but after his swing into universalism, I got rid of all his stuff and won’t listen to him again. He’s coming to speak in town and I’ve had several friends ask me to go and I refuse and explain why. They say, “he doesn’t say that stuff anymore”.
Doesn’t mean he doesn’t still believe it. A religious leader who falls should pursue a new career, not try to stop saying the offensive things he believes.
21"Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter. 22 "Many will say to Me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?' 23"And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; DEPART FROM ME, YOU WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS.' Matthew 7:21-23
“Who the hell is Tony Campolo?”
I love how the Wikipedia article on him describes him in its FIRST sentence:
“Anthony “Tony” Campolo (born February 25, 1935) is an American sociologist, pastor, author, public speaker and former spiritual advisor to U.S. President Bill Clinton.[1]”
Bill Clinton? Well, that tells me a lot. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tony_Campolo
2 Timothy 4:3-4 applies.
CT is a decent magazine.
The guy is no longer with CT.
Another good publication: World Magazine...a news publication.
