My younger sister is performing in a production of the G&S "Ruddigore" as Dame Hannah for the next couple of weekends.
She is the one brandishing the Halberd, as well she can. She is a Soprano, an accomplished Trouper, and a good shot.
I love her dearly - she has taught me much - about music and other things.

FOOD FOR THE SOUL: THE CHOPIN NOCTURNESThis is the most complex and greatest of the nocturnes. Powerful and personal, it is a cry from the heart. That E# at the opening clashes with the C# minor triad and sets you wondering what his key is going to be. The central panel has a rumbling, menacing bass line with a huge buildup. It ends in the major (7 sharps!) like a hymn.
Chopin: Nocturne in C# minor, Op. 27/1

FOOD FOR THE SOUL: THE CHOPIN NOCTURNESThis is one of Freds more famous pieces, the enharmonic and polar opposite of the previous nocturne. Its intensely beautiful. Note Rubinsteins gift of rubato, the ability to make small changes of tempo while maintaining the basic pulse. The end will make your screen go blurry.
Chopin: Nocturne in D-flat, Op. 27/2
More food for the soul tomorrow night.
