Good riddance. I guess there will gnashing of teeth for the small fry political operatives and activists who enjoyed getting their free bus ride and food/refreshments.

It is not a bad thing. That poll was a waste of time and just allowed a propaganda op for the GOP anyway. I do not see this as harming conservatives at all.

Iowa Straw Poll ... good riddance ping.

It's an Iowa tradition--leads to the first round of winnowing of candidates sometimes:
Back in January, the Iowa GOP board voted 16-0 to proceed with the straw poll, a tradition dating to 1979. It's a daylong political festival meant to showcase the party's presidential candidates and to bring Iowa Republicans together for food, music and field-winnowing. This year, it's scheduled for Aug. 8 at the Central Iowa Expo near Boone.

zactly. Not much is lower than a DC operative/consultant. Although fun for some in iowa the straw poll is extremely distracting from important team building and real nomination votes. Time to move on and get serious.

Zactly...this was designed for goofs like Paul or the huckster. Has nothing to do with real candidates.
