While I agree this was NOT one of the more egregious examples of a rogue cop, he was clearly not in control of himself and he caused panic every place he went.

Listen again to the video. He is basically the star of the video because his action were causing the most attention.

Every place he goes there is an increase in screaming and panic.

Rule #1 in riot control is DO NOT ESCALATE the situation. Rule #2 is DO NOT FORGET RULE #1

It is a personality thing- he needs a desk job.

When I was in the Security Police in the Air Force we had a riot control training video.

It showed the same situation 2 different ways. In the first situation a group of rowdy people is approached by an officer EXACTLY like the one in this video and things escalate out of control very quickly and VERY BADLY (as in this video- where he was moments away from shooting two kids.)

In the second half the training video had the exact same situation, and a different officer CALMLY takes control of the situation and things end peacefully. I remember it as being one of the best training videos I had ever seen, and clearly fixed in my mind the difference between gaining and losing control of a situation.

This officer lacks the professional demeanor and presence necessary in that situation.

Look at the video again - he was SECONDS AWAY FROM SHOOTING some kids.

The other two officers calmly walking towards that scene were probably as shocked as everyone else. Notice how the other two officers did not rush into the crowd to assist him?

Listen again as he runs around screaming and swearing- each place he goes there is suddenly more screaming and panic.

He escalated the situation nearly out of control.

You make some good points. I do feel the officer was all jacked up primarily because he had a hundred stupid teenagers running around acting “stupidly”.

The officer also did have several people bum rush him while he attempted to get this loud mouth teenager on the ground. If she would have just sat down like a lady and shut her mouth, half of that situation would not have happened.

Two or three girls rushed him from the left, then a guy that appeared at least the officers size if not bigger rush up to him on the right. This is when he pulled the weapon out of it’s holster. I’dda done the same thing.

The guy, “acting stupidly” rushed an armed officer. He is lucky to be alive.

This is the left’s foray for penetrating their “shock troops” into the suburbs.

The person that needs some serious background checking is the “DJ” that set up (without permission) and then tweet-called the troops in.

They intend to riot, loot and burn in the suburbs next, because that’s where the bulk of their political opposition lives and owns property.

I really hope the people in this neighborhood are prepared. They need a carbine with several hundred rounds of ammo in every house.

No, he wasn't.
His finger was never on the trigger.
The gun was never pointed directly at any of the assailants. (you may choose to view them as "kids" but I saw assailants preparing to rush him)

As soon as the threat was over, he holstered his gun.

I agree. Every other officer at the scene handled the situation professionally. They appeared to be calmly (but authoritatively) speaking to people, trying to determine what was going on (e.g., who had the right to be there and who didn’t), and trying to de-escalatet what was already a tense situation.

This guy did none of those things. As you said, it’s not one of the more “egregious examples of a rogue cop,” but is most certainly an example of an officer who needs to do a better job of keeping his composure under stress (or, if he can’t do that, finding another career). He should look to his fellow officers for an example as to how to conduct himself.

Have you seen the video of the FIRST FIGHT ?

That was when the situation escalated out of control and the neighbors called the police.

The cops weren't there yet, so WHO do you blame for that ?

Why is the officer's cursing a problem while the DJ had been playing RAP MUSIC with OBSCENE LYRICS for an hour ?
